Job Title: Area Manager – Diabetes Technologies
Diabetes Care Engagement Partner / State Diabetes Business Lead
Location: Pan India
ROLE OBJECTIVE
To develop and expand Shukra Pharmaceuticals’ Diabetes Technologies business across the assigned territory or state through strong clinical engagement, KOL development, institutional partnerships, patient-support initiatives and effective trade execution.
The role will focus on improving the adoption of advanced diabetes-care solutions, including Continuous Glucose Monitoring Systems (CGMS), Insulin Delivery Device Technologies and Integrated Diabetes Management Programmes across private, institutional and government healthcare channels.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement territory- or state-specific sales and market-development strategies.
Promote CGMS, insulin-related technologies, GLP-1 products and diabetes patient-support solutions.
Build strong relationships with endocrinologists, diabetologists, physicians and other diabetes-care specialists.
Establish and maintain meaningful engagement with leading KOLs across the assigned state.
Generate prescriptions, product adoption, patient referrals and institutional business opportunities.
Conduct regular HCP calls, scientific discussions, product presentations and demonstrations.
Plan and organise Round Table Meetings, CMEs, advisory-board meetings, workshops and clinical-awareness programmes.
Coordinate diabetes-screening camps, patient-education initiatives and structured patient-support programmes.
Develop B2B partnerships with hospitals, diabetes clinics, diagnostic centres, pharmacies and corporate healthcare organisations.
Expand coverage across government hospitals, medical colleges, institutional accounts and public-sector healthcare facilities.
Build and strengthen distributor, stockist, pharmacy and trade-channel networks.
Ensure adequate product availability, inventory management and secondary-sales movement.
Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, prescription behaviour and emerging technologies.
Maintain accurate doctor databases, KOL mapping, sales reports, call records and market intelligence.
Achieve defined monthly, quarterly and annual sales, prescription, coverage and business-development objectives.
Coordinate with the medical, marketing, commercial and patient-support teams for effective programme execution.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES — STATE DIABETES BUSINESS LEAD
Lead and develop the Diabetes Care Engagement Partners operating within the assigned state.
Prepare territory-wise sales plans, doctor-coverage strategies and institutional-business plans.
Conduct joint fieldwork, coaching, product training and regular performance reviews.
Drive consistent implementation of the Diabetes Division’s sales and marketing strategy.
Monitor primary and secondary sales, collections, stock availability and distributor performance.
Develop state-level KOL networks and strategic relationships with major institutions.
Review territory productivity and implement corrective action plans wherever required.
Ensure achievement of state-level sales, coverage, patient-support and institutional-business targets.
Maintain compliance with company policies, reporting requirements and ethical promotional practices.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 10 years of overall experience in pharmaceutical, medical-device or healthcare sales.
At least 5 years of direct experience in the diabetes segment.
Preference will be given to candidates with experience in a reputed insulin, diabetes, CGMS or GLP-1 organisation.
Strong relationships with endocrinologists, diabetologists, physicians and KOLs within the assigned territory or state.
Demonstrated experience in prescription generation, institutional sales, B2B business, government hospitals and trade management.
Proven capability in organising RTMs, CMEs, scientific programmes and patient-support activities.
Previous team-management experience is mandatory for the State Diabetes Business Lead position.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Graduate degree in Science, Pharmacy, Life Sciences, Business Administration or a related discipline.
A postgraduate qualification in Marketing, Healthcare Management or Business Administration will be an advantage.
PREFERRED CAPABILITIES
Strong understanding of diabetes management, insulin therapy, CGMS and GLP-1 product categories.
Excellent clinical communication, scientific presentation and HCP-engagement abilities.
Strong sales, negotiation, territory planning and business-development capabilities.
Proven KOL, institutional and stakeholder-management skills.
Experience covering private hospitals, government institutions and trade channels.
Ability to analyse market potential and convert opportunities into sustainable business.
Strong leadership, coaching, reporting and problem-solving capabilities.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory or state.
