The ERO Business Partner serves as the primary relationship lead between the Enterprise Resiliency Office and aligned business units, providing strategic guidance, oversight, challenge, and support to strengthen operational resilience capabilities across the organization.
In this role, you will be responsible for enhancing the partnership and strategic alignment between ERO and assigned business units by delivering high-value engagement that strengthens resilience posture, drives measurable improvements in preparedness, and establishes ERO as a trusted advisor. You will oversee the execution of key operational resilience activities, including continuity planning, testing and exercising, crisis preparedness, technology resilience oversight, regulatory remediation, and risk management disciplines.
As a key role holder within the ERO organization, you will collaborate closely with business leaders, Business Continuity Directors (BCDs), Critical Business Service Owners, technology teams, and resiliency subject matter experts to ensure resilience strategies remain fit for purpose, risks are appropriately identified and remediated, and business units maintain conformance with State Street’s operational resilience standards, frameworks, and strategic objectives. The role also plays an important part in shaping the future evolution of the ERO program by leveraging business insights, execution feedback, and industry developments to drive continuous improvement.

Serve as the primary ERO relationship manager for assigned business units, fostering strong partnerships and providing strategic guidance to improve operational resilience capabilities.
Enhance the resilience posture of assigned business units by assessing preparedness, identifying execution challenges, supporting remediation efforts, and providing subject matter expertise on resilience-related matters.
Oversee conformance of aligned business units with State Street’s Operational Resilience framework, enterprise standards, regulatory requirements, and established OKRs.
Support business units in strengthening testing, exercising, crisis management, and business continuity capabilities, ensuring resilience strategies are practical, effective, and regularly validated.
Maintain oversight of disaster recovery testing outcomes for applications supporting assigned business units and ensure identified gaps are appropriately addressed.
Maintain visibility into the health of key resilience dependencies, including technology services, third-party providers, critical personnel, facilities, and supporting operational capabilities.
Review and challenge continuity plans, recovery strategies, Alternative Action Plans (AAPs), and Contingency Plans (CPs) supporting Critical Business Services to ensure compliance, completeness, and operational effectiveness.
Coordinate with Business Service Owners, Business Continuity Directors, Technology partners, and ERO Centers of Excellence to support end-to-end resilience planning and risk management activities.
Participate in Business Impact Analysis (BIA), criticality reviews, and dependency assessments, providing effective challenge and guidance to stakeholders.
Support business units during incidents, disruptions, and crises by providing resilience expertise, coordinating with Global Crisis Management as needed, contributing to post-incident reviews, and ensuring timely closure of corrective actions.
Oversee and monitor remediation efforts related to resilience risks, issues, audit findings, regulatory commitments, and management action plans affecting assigned business units.
Partner with Third-Party Risk Management, Technology Resilience, Resilience by Design, Foundation Services, and Testing Centers of Excellence to drive execution-ready resilience solutions and program improvements.
Support client presentations, regulatory engagements, requests for proposals (RFPs), resilience assessments, and simulation exercises as required.
Deliver guidance, training, and coaching to Business Continuity Directors and business stakeholders on operational resilience requirements, roles, responsibilities, and supporting systems.
Actively participate in ERO leadership forums, BCD governance meetings, working groups, and enterprise resilience initiatives to support continuous improvement of the ERO program.
Key Qualifications:
Extensive experience in Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Crisis Management, Technology Resilience, Risk Management, or a related discipline within a large financial institution.
Typically, 15+ years of relevant financial services, operational resilience, business continuity, risk, technology, or regulatory experience.
Demonstrated experience managing senior business stakeholder relationships and influencing resilience outcomes across large, complex organizations.

Business continuity or resilience certifications such as CBCP, MBCP, or MBCI are preferred.
Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, SharePoint, and executive-level reporting.
Additional Requirements:
Due to the nature of crisis events and business disruptions, occasional off-hours support may be required, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to support incident response, crisis management, and resilience activities.
