Key Responsibilities:
Developing and reviewing civil & structural designs for equipment foundations, buildings, platforms, trenches, cable routes and other associated works.
Optimising foundation and structural designs based on actual site conditions and project requirements.
Ensuring better coordination between Electrical, MEP, Civil and Structural engineering disciplines.
Reducing dependency on external consultants and improving design turnaround time.
Standardising typical civil/structural designs, calculations and design criteria for repetitive project requirements.
Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation through design reviews and constructability assessment.
Building a reusable design database and standard design templates for future projects.
Providing technical support during construction and resolving site-related civil/structural issues.
Desirable Skills & Experience: Civil Substation Works
a. Technical Expertise
Strong understanding of civil engineering design and construction related to substations, including foundations, control buildings, cable trenches, drainage systems, and equipment plinths.
Familiarity with RCC design concepts, bar bending schedules (BBS), formwork systems, and finishing works.
b. Project Execution Experience
Proven experience in site execution of civil works for substations, switchyards, or similar infrastructure projects.
Hands-on experience in activities such as excavation, concreting, structural works, and finishing.
c. Team Coordination
Ability to manage site teams, subcontractors, and multiple work fronts simultaneously.
Effective coordination with electrical, mechanical, and other interfacing teams to ensure smooth project execution.
e. Communication Skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate with clients, consultants, and contractors.
Ability to clearly report site progress, issues, and technical matters.
f. Problem-Solving
Proactive approach in identifying and resolving construction challenges such as design issues, site constraints, and resource limitations.
g. Compliance Knowledge
Familiarity with relevant civil engineering codes and standards (e.g., IS codes), project specifications, and industry best practices.
Understanding of statutory and safety compliance requirements applicable to construction sites.
