Role Overview
The Operations Manager / Executive will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing catering operations across events. The role requires strong leadership, vendor coordination, logistics management, client interaction, and on-ground event execution capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Event Planning & Execution
• Coordinate end-to-end execution of catering events.
• Ensure all operational requirements are planned and delivered as per event timelines.
• Conduct pre-event planning meetings with internal teams and vendors.
• Supervise event setup, service standards, and event breakdown.
Team Management
• Manage service staff, supervisors, captains, and support teams.
• Allocate manpower efficiently across events.
• Monitor staff performance and maintain service quality standards.
• Ensure discipline, grooming, and professionalism across teams.
Logistics & Inventory
• Coordinate transportation of food, equipment, and event materials.
• Manage inventory of service ware, equipment, and event assets.
• Ensure timely movement of materials between kitchen, warehouse, and event venues.
• Minimize wastage and operational losses.
Vendor & Venue Coordination
• Liaise with venue teams, decorators, production agencies, and third-party vendors.
• Ensure smooth coordination for power, water, access, loading/unloading, and event logistics.
• Resolve operational issues proactively during events.
Client Management
• Attend client meetings when required.
• Understand event requirements and communicate them effectively to operations and kitchen teams.
• Ensure client expectations are met or exceeded during event execution.
Compliance & Quality Control
• Maintain food safety, hygiene, and operational standards.
• Ensure compliance with company SOPs and venue regulations.
• Conduct post-event reviews and identify improvement opportunities.
Desired Qualifications
• Graduate in Hospitality, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Experience in catering, hospitality, events, banquets, weddings, or large-scale food service operations preferred.
Experience
Operations Executive
• 1–4 years of relevant experience.
Operations Manager
• 5–10 years of relevant experience with team management responsibilities.
Skills Required
• Strong organizational and planning skills.
• Excellent communication and coordination abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
• Vendor and manpower management experience.
• Problem-solving mindset and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, Google Sheets, and operational reporting.
• Willingness to travel and work on weekends, holidays, and event days.
