JOB DESCRIPTION
Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) is the largest commercial ports operator in India accounting for nearly one-fourth of the cargo movement in the country. Its presence across 15 domestic ports in seven maritime states of Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Odisha presents the most widespread national footprint with deepened hinterland connectivity. The port facilities are equipped with the latest cargo-handling infrastructure which is not only best-in-class, but also capable of handling the largest vessels calling at Indian shores. Our ports are equipped to handle diverse cargos, from dry cargo, liquid cargo, crude to containers.
Role Purpose
This role plays a crucial role in supporting the Marketing Head in customer acquisition and retention strategies. This position is responsible for achieving budgeted volume and revenue targets for dry cargo commodities such as minerals, fertilizers, breakbulk, project cargo, and other assigned categories.
Responsibilities
Customer Acquisition Support:
Assist the Marketing Head in developing and executing strategies to acquire new customers and retain existing ones, ensuring achievement of budgeted volume and revenue targets for assigned dry cargo commodities, including minerals, fertilizers, breakbulk, and project cargo.
Proposal and Contract Management:
Prepare and send proposals to clients, and draft contracts upon business finalization, ensuring timely communication and adherence to organizational standards.
Opportunity Identification:
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and execute sales plans to expand market share.
Customer Relationship Management:
Provide superior customer service by analyzing and verifying order information promptly, implementing corrective actions as needed to uphold high service standards and customer satisfaction.
Accounts Receivable Management:
Follow up on payments and support the business development of assigned commodities, ensuring timely collection of receivables.
Market Promotion & Engagement:
Actively promote port services through direct presentations and maintain regular contact with customers, participating in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to enhance visibility and market presence.
Strategic Monitoring and Feedback:
Develop comprehensive profiles for current and prospective clients, detailing key information such as product offerings, production capacities, and decision makers, while providing strategic feedback to management for decision-making.
Operational Coordination:
Facilitate smooth customer transactions by coordinating with Operations, Vessel Agents, Suppliers, Surveyors, CHAs, Finance & Accounts, and CAD departments.
Digital Mindset:
Keep up with digital and AI advancements to enhance business and maintain competitiveness.
Team Development:
Promote a respectful and safe workplace, lead collaborative and productive teams, and mentor for growth and success.
Key Stakeholders - Internal:
CEO - Ports, Other Departments - HoDs, Direct reportees
Key Stakeholders - External:
Prospective clients, government and regulatory bodies, Trade groups, Competitors
Education Qualification:
MBA/PGDBA in Marketing or Manufacturing or Ports/Shipping & Logistics
Work Experience:
Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in Customer Service in Ports, Shipping or Logistics is essential.
