Mechanical/Aeronautical -Cabin Simulator Engineer, key responsibilities typically include - :
• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain aircraft cabin simulation systems for training,
testing, and evaluation.
• Configure and troubleshoot cabin systems such as lighting, passenger service units, doors,
seats, galleys, lavatories, entertainment systems, and cabin management systems.
• Develop and maintain hardware and software interfaces between simulator components and
aircraft cabin systems.
• Perform system integration, functional testing, validation, and acceptance testing of
simulator equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, electronic, mechanical, software, and communication-
interface faults.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, system schematics, test procedures,
maintenance manuals, and configuration records.
• Support simulator upgrades, modifications, new aircraft programs, and technology
integration.
• Coordinate with aircraft OEMs, suppliers, software developers, maintenance teams, and
other engineering disciplines.
• Monitor simulator performance and ensure systems meet required technical, safety,
reliability, and training standards.
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to maximize simulator availability and
minimize downtime.
• Analyze test results and system data to identify performance issues and recommend
improvements.
• Support installation, commissioning, and site acceptance of new cabin simulator equipment.
• Manage configuration control of simulator hardware, software, databases, and system
versions.
• Provide technical support to instructors, operators, and maintenance personnel.
• Ensure compliance with applicable aviation, electrical, safety, and quality requirements.
1. Maintenance & Troubleshooting
o Perform routine preventive maintenance on simulator hardware and software.
o Diagnose and repair system faults, failures, and technical issues.
o Respond to simulator outages and restore functionality quickly.
2. System Monitoring & Performance
o Monitor simulator performance during training sessions.
o Ensure all systems — visuals, motion systems, computer modules, avionics, controls
— work as per required standards.
o Maintain and adjust calibration and flight performance accuracy.
3. Software & Database Management
o Install updates, patches, and revisions to simulator software.
o Maintain and configure aircraft data packages, airport/terrain databases, and
system software backups.
4. Compliance & Documentation
o Maintain records of maintenance logs, defects, repairs, and scheduled checks.
o Ensure simulator meets regulatory standards (DGCA, depending on
facility).
o Support audits and regulatory inspections.
5. Coordination With Stakeholders
o Work with instructors, training managers, OEM vendors, and IT/technical teams to
address issues.
o Communicate downtime, schedules, and performance improvements.
6. Safety & Quality Assurance
o Follow safety protocols during mechanical/electrical maintenance.
o Conduct risk assessments and ensure equipment safety for users.
7. Upgrades & Optimization
o Recommend and assist in technology upgrades and hardware replacements.
o Improve system reliability, training realism, and energy/equipment efficiency.
