Job Summary:
We are seeking a motivated Manual & Automation Test Engineer Intern to support QA activities for web and mobile applications. This internship focuses on manual testing—writing and executing test cases, tracking defects, and participating in Agile ceremonies—while gaining hands-on exposure to basic automation (framework setup and running scripts). This is an opportunity to learn testing best practices and grow into a full-time QA role.
Must-Have Skills:
0–6 months’ experience (internships/projects/coursework) in software testing or QA support.
Basic understanding of STLC and SDLC.
Ability to write clear test cases, test scenarios, and basic test plans.
Familiarity with defect tracking tools such as Jira or ClickUp.
Awareness of functional and non-functional testing types.
Basic automation knowledge: able to run existing scripts and assist in setting up simple automation frameworks (Java + Selenium or Playwright).
Basic API testing familiarity (Postman) and elementary SQL knowledge for data validation.
Good analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.
Comfortable working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
Responsibilities:
Learn and analyze business requirements and functional specifications to understand expected application behavior.
Create and maintain test cases and test scenarios under guidance.
Execute manual tests (functional, regression, smoke, sanity) and log defects with clear reproduction steps.
Use defect tracking tools (Jira/ClickUp) to raise, update, and track defects to closure.
Assist in setting up and running automation scripts; support maintenance of automation suites.
Support basic API testing using Postman and perform simple SQL queries for data validation.
Participate in Agile ceremonies—daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
Prepare and maintain test documentation, execution logs, and basic defect metrics.
Collaborate with developers, product owners, and QA leads to reproduce and resolve issues.
Contribute to continuous improvement by suggesting areas for additional automation or test coverage.
