Role Overview:
The Strategy and Governance team is a critical function that supports Alpha Operations & Investment Analytics (AOIA) through strong governance, disciplined business management and data-enabled decision-making. As a Strategy & Governance Analyst, you will help maintain governance routines across strategic priorities while using data analytics, visualization and AI-enabled tools to improve reporting, automate manual processes and strengthen insight generation across Client Excellence, Operational & Technical Excellence, Risk Excellence and Employee Engagement pillars.
Key Responsibilities:
Execute assigned business management and governance activities in line with defined priorities, including Client Sentiment, Client Excellence, Risk Profile, Organisation Design, Operating Model, Productivity, Employee Engagement and Global Footprint initiatives.
Improve recurring governance processes and deliverables by identifying opportunities to simplify, standardise and automate manual reporting or control steps.
Contribute to analysis and project workstreams related to internal strategic and transformational initiatives, translating data into clear insights, actions and executive-ready materials.
Support initiatives across the CORE Strategy, including Client Experience, Operational & Technical Excellence, Risk Excellence and Employee Engagement, ensuring outputs connect governance discipline with measurable business outcomes.
Work collaboratively with Global and Regional stakeholders to gather inputs, challenge inconsistencies, validate data and deliver accurate, timely and well-structured outputs.
Assess, measure and manage risk exposure as part of standardised business practices; promptly address, document and escalate issues as appropriate.
Maintain and enhance data trackers, SharePoint / Teams-based repositories and reporting templates to support a consistent source of truth for governance reporting.
Use technical tools such as Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, Power BI, Power Automate / Power flows and AI-enabled capabilities to support dashboarding, workflow automation, data quality checks and workload optimization.
Balance process and governance knowledge with technical curiosity, using data tools to reduce manual effort, improve transparency and increase confidence in business reporting.
Requirements and Qualifications
Collaboration: Works effectively and constructively with colleagues across business lines, countries, regions and global teams, including business, operations, risk, technology and transformation stakeholders.
Problem-solving: Applies structured problem-solving, root-cause thinking and a broader One State Street mindset to simplify governance processes and resolve data or reporting challenges.
Organisation & Prioritisation: Demonstrates strong organisation and prioritisation skills to manage multiple deadlines, recurring governance cycles and ad hoc stakeholder requests.
Communication: Communicates clearly in writing and verbally, with the ability to explain governance requirements, data outputs and process changes to different levels of the organisation.
Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, learning new tools and adapting to changing business, governance and technology priorities.
Analytical & Technical Skills: Able to work confidently with data sets, perform analysis, identify exceptions and generate insights using advanced Excel and visualisation or automation tools.
Presentation Skills: Capable of translating technical analysis into clear, well-structured documents, dashboards and presentations for governance forums and senior stakeholders.
Attention to Detail: Demonstrates accuracy and diligence when working with data, controls and executive materials, ensuring outputs are complete, reliable and appropriately challenged.
Education & Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in English.
Banking / financial sector experience, preferably within operations, investment analytics, governance, business management or transformation.
Finance, data, business analysis, project coordination or governance reporting experience.
Effective time management skills and ability to manage recurring governance cycles alongside ad hoc requests.
Strong analytical skills, including ability to interpret data, identify trends, validate outputs and summarise findings for decision-making.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence engaging stakeholders across functions and regions.
MS Office capability, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, including formulas, lookups, PivotTables, Power Query, Power Pivot, data validation and structured reporting templates.
Experience with, or strong interest in, Power BI, Power Automate / Power flows, SharePoint Lists, Teams / SharePoint-based collaboration, AI-enabled productivity tools and dashboard automation would be beneficial.
Ability to combine governance understanding with technical skills to improve process control, reporting efficiency, data transparency and stakeholder confidence.
Minimum Salary:​
zł87,000 Annual
The minimum salary quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate ultimately works outside of this primary location, the applicable minimum salary may differ.​
Salary will be determined based on factors such as the position, type of work performed, individual skills, job description, working hours, diligence, initiative, self-management, length of employment, availability, and the quantity and quality of work delivered, as well as other objective and non-discriminatory criteria relevant to State Street employees.​
In addition to salary, employees are eligible to be considered for discretionary annual performance-based awards.​
