Job Description
Mattel is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Workday HRIS Consultant with expertise in Workday HCM, Compensation, and Security to support the design, configuration, enhancement, and ongoing administration of our global Workday platform. This role will partner closely with HR, Total Rewards, IT, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions that improve employee experience, ensure data integrity, and support organizational growth.
The ideal candidate will possess strong Workday functional expertise, problem-solving skills, and a passion for optimizing HR technology through continuous improvement and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Workday Configuration & Administration
Configure, maintain, and optimize Workday HCM, Compensation, and Security modules.
Design and implement business process changes, condition rules, calculated fields, notifications, and security configurations.
Support Workday releases, perform impact analysis, regression testing, and feature adoption.
Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable Workday solutions aligned with best practices.
Compensation Management
Support annual compensation planning cycles, merit processes, bonus programs, and compensation reviews.
Configure compensation eligibility rules, compensation grades, plans, and related business processes.
Partner with Total Rewards teams to implement compensation-related enhancements and process improvements.
Troubleshoot compensation-related issues and provide timely resolutions.
Security Administration
Configure and maintain domain and business process security policies.
Manage role-based security assignments and perform periodic security audits.
Ensure compliance with organizational policies, privacy regulations, and audit requirements.
Support security reviews, segregation-of-duty controls, and risk mitigation initiatives.
Reporting & Data Management
Develop, maintain, and enhance Workday reports, dashboards, and calculated fields.
Ensure HR data accuracy, consistency, and integrity across Workday modules.
Analyze workforce and compensation data to support business decision-making.
Support internal and external audit requests through accurate reporting and documentation.
Stakeholder Collaboration
Partner with HR, Payroll, Compensation, Talent, and IT teams to identify system enhancement opportunities.
Provide functional guidance and recommendations based on Workday best practices.
Support global HR initiatives, system implementations, and organizational changes.
Deliver end-user support and training for Workday processes and functionality.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes through automation and system enhancements.
Stay current with Workday releases and emerging HR technology trends.
Participate in HR transformation and digitalization initiatives.
Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field.
Experience
3-7 years of hands-on experience supporting Workday HCM implementations and production support environments.
Proven experience configuring and administering:
Workday Core HCM
Workday Compensation
Workday Security
Experience supporting global HR operations and complex organizational structures.
Experience with Workday business processes, condition rules, calculated fields, and security frameworks.
Technical Skills
Strong understanding of Workday security architecture, domains, business process security, and role assignments.
Experience supporting merit, bonus, and compensation review cycles within Workday.
Advanced reporting expertise using Workday Report Writer and calculated fields.
Experience with EIBs, data loads, and mass data updates.
Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis techniques.
Exposure to HR technology automation and AI-enabled solutions.
Soft Skills
Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
Workday Pro or Workday Certification in HCM, Compensation, or Security.
Experience supporting annual compensation planning cycles.
Exposure to Workday Prism Analytics or People Analytics.
Experience working in consumer products, retail, manufacturing, or global enterprise environments.
Familiarity with Workday integrations, Studio, Core Connectors, and Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB).
Knowledge of Agile project methodologies.
Experience participating in Workday implementations, enhancement projects, or HR transformation initiatives.
