Role Description The Senior Data Analyst is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandigarh, responsible for transforming complex data into clear insights that support strategic and operational decisions across the university. Day-to-day tasks include collecting, cleaning, and validating data from multiple sources, building dashboards and reports, and performing statistical and predictive analyses to identify trends and measure performance to collating data to be presented in the VC Office. The role involves collaborating with academic and administrative units to define data requirements, translate business questions into analytical frameworks, and present findings in a clear, actionable format. The Senior Data Analyst is also expected to contribute to data governance practices, mentor junior analysts, and support the adoption of AI-driven analytics solutions.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Data Analytics and Analytical Skills, with experience applying quantitative methods to real-world institutional or business problems.
Proficiency in Statistics and Data Modeling, including the ability to design models, test hypotheses, and interpret statistical outputs.
Excellent Communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data findings to non-technical stakeholders and prepare clear reports and presentations.
Experience with data visualization and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and SQL or other query languages.
Hands-on experience with analytics in Python or R and familiarity with AI/ML concepts is highly beneficial.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, or a related quantitative field.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects with attention to detail and timelines.
Experience in higher education or large, data-rich organizations is an advantage.
