Your role and responsibilities
In this role, you will have the opportunity to implement the service strategy and drive service growth at the respective unit level. Each day, you will lead the Service organization and be responsible for the P&L to achieve performance targets and to optimize the utilization of Service resources. You will also showcase your expertise by running the day-to-day service business to ensure profitable growth and improvement of service productivity.
The work model for the role is: Onsite based in Johannesburg, Modderfontein.
This role is contributing to the Electrification Services for South Africa, Nigeria and Sub Sahara.
You will be mainly accountable for:
Creating and driving implementation of service strategy as a member of the management team.
Ensuring that strategic plans are implemented consistently in the service organization through collaboration with other businesses.
Driving, implementing, reporting, and monitoring of performance targets as part of the respective unit P&L (financial, productivity, investments, customer satisfaction, operational excellence, etc.).
Investing in improving the quality of existing service products and in developing new service products to expand the portfolio in line with global direction.
Lead a multi-level organization (direct and indirect reports) ensuring proper structure, staffing, and skill development. Guide, motivate, and develop talent. Create high-performing teams accountable for business results.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers. Evaluate market opportunities, decide on strategic activities, and drive customer satisfaction metrics. Support sales efforts and ensure market competitiveness.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. Implement process improvements, develop new service offerings, and invest in capability enhancement. Ensure HSE compliance and sustainability standards throughout the organization.

Qualifications for the role
You are immersed in working with the engineering industry or manufacturing sector markets.
You have 15 years of experience in Business and Operations management, international leadership with P&L responsibility, strong service operations, multicultural managerial experience, and engineering background.
Good track record across service or electrification business, ideally in utilities or process industries.
Must demonstrate people management, organizational skills, and strong awareness of customers and markets.
Ability to drive business growth and transformation.
Possess an enhanced knowledge of Salesforce.
Solid understanding of operational excellence, quality management, HSE, and continuous improvement
Degree and proven experience of Electrical Engineering.
Experience in electrification, electrical services, or energy-related industries.
Familiarity with ABB products, services, or business models.
Background in regional or international business operations.
Exposure to digital transformation and innovation initiatives.
Certification in lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.
You are at ease communicating in English.
You are willing to travel locally and internationally when required.
