JOB DESCRIPTION:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Analyst, Sanctions & Export Controls (EU/OUS) based in Belgium.
Reporting to the Manager, OUS Sanctions & Export Controls, you will provide analytical and operational support for Abbott's sanctions and export controls program across jurisdictions outside the United States. You will play a key role in supporting licensing and authorization activities, compliance monitoring, due diligence, and regulatory compliance initiatives that help ensure Abbott operates responsibly and in accordance with global trade regulations.
This role offers the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative, international environment while partnering with teams across the business and engaging with external regulatory authorities.
What You'll Do
Support Abbott's sanctions and export controls compliance program across international markets.
Prepare, coordinate, and monitor export license and sanctions-related authorization applications with regulatory authorities, including BAFA.
Support export control classification activities and licensing assessments
Conduct compliance monitoring and support sanctions and export control reviews.
Review export transactions and related documentation to ensure compliance with applicable regulations.
Support sanctions and export controls due diligence activities.
Maintain licensing records and compliance documentation.
Partner with internal stakeholders on compliance projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Help ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and global trade requirements.
What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in Law, International Business, International Trade, Political Science, or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience in sanctions, export controls, international trade compliance, or a related area.
Knowledge of EU sanctions and export control regulations, including export licensing requirements.
Experience supporting export license applications and regulatory authorizations.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with compliance monitoring, audits, or due diligence activities is an advantage.
Experience in healthcare, medical devices, pharmaceuticals, or life sciences, as well as German language skills, is a plus.
