About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Senior Commercial Loan Closing Representative
In this role, you will:
Support performance of less experienced staff and overall effectiveness of team
Provide feedback and present ideas for improving or implementing processes and tools within Commercial Loan Closing
Evaluate and upload data into the systems of record to ensure compliance with all bank policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
Perform complex legal activities for loan documentation that may also include documentation purchased from a third party source, internal staff and the Corporate Legal Group
Provide subject matter expertise and interpretation of procedures to less experienced individuals
Work collaboratively with Credit, Sales and Legal regarding proper procedures and documentation requirements necessary to ensure accuracy with negotiated terms and ensure alignment with appropriate compliance standards
Interact with immediate team and Commercial Loan Closing
Interact with internal customers
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of Experience in commercial loan closing support, collateral management, flood operations, or insurance operations, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, or education.
Desired Qualifications:
Support performance and overall effectiveness of team, as well as cross-group pre-close and post-close documents for the most complex real estate loans
Provide feedback and present ideas for improving or implementing processes and tools within Commercial Loan Closing
Perform or guide others on complex business and operational decisions that require planning, evaluation, and interpretation
Review and prepare loan related documents
Independently prioritize work and provide day-to-day-work leadership and mentorship to Commercial Loan Closing team
Lead or contribute to implementation of new or revised processes and procedures that require coordination among various work groups
Provide guidance and subject matter expertise to peers, colleagues and managers on the functions, policies, procedures and compliance requirements
Support pre-close documents for moderately complex to complex commercial loans
Seek ways to improve aspects of loan closing and process's
Perform moderately complex legal activities for loan documentation that may include Documents purchased from third party sources, internal staff and corporate legal groups
Review and prepare complex loan documents
Receive direction from supervisor and escalate non-routine questions
Review and negotiate complex legal documentation, evaluate risks, devise strategies to mitigate documentation risk and identify procedural modifications
Interact with immediate team and Commercial Loan Closing group as well as Interact with internal customers
Validate flood determinations using approved third-party vendors
Conduct FDPA (Flood Disaster Protection Act) compliance reviews for both high-risk and low-risk transactions.
Perform flood determination validation using internal systems or approved third-party vendors.
Review credit agreements, loan documents, and collateral records to identify flood insurance requirements and compliance obligations.
Evaluate flood insurance policies to ensure:
Adequate coverage amounts (loan balance, insurable value, NFIP limits)
Accuracy of borrower/lender details
Policy validity, effective dates, and renewals
Differentiate and prioritize high-risk vs low-risk events, ensuring appropriate depth of review and escalation where required.
Identify documentation gaps, policy deficiencies, and compliance exceptions, and track them to resolution.
Maintain proper documentation and audit trails to support regulatory and internal audits.
Ensure compliance with FDPA, FEMA, and NFIP guidelines, as well as internal risk and compliance policies.
Coordinate closely with Deal Teams, Middle Office Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of reviews, especially under tight timelines aligned with loan closing deadlines.
Provide clear communication of findings, risks, and remediation steps to stakeholders.
