Role Description The Design Lead is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru, responsible for leading end-to-end design activities for furniture and fixtures projects. This role involves developing design concepts, preparing detailed drawings and specifications, and ensuring designs are aligned with client requirements and brand guidelines. The Design Lead will oversee the design team, coordinate with engineering, production, and sales teams, and manage design reviews to ensure quality, feasibility, and cost-efficiency. Day-to-day tasks include client briefings, design presentations, material and finish selection, and collaboration with vendors to support prototyping and manufacturing. The Design Lead will also be expected to maintain design standards, introduce innovative solutions, and support continuous improvement in design processes.
Qualifications
Strong capabilities in furniture and fixture design, including concept development, space planning, and detailed CAD or 3D modeling.
Experience leading design projects, managing design teams, and coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders (engineering, production, sales).
Proficiency in relevant design and visualization software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, or similar tools.
Knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and value engineering principles for furniture and fixtures.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to understand client requirements and translate them into practical design solutions.
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
Prior experience in furniture manufacturing, retail fit-outs, or commercial interiors is highly desirable.
