Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Academic Advisor located in Coimbatore. The Academic Advisor will assist students with tailored guidance for academic and career options, including helping students select courses, plan educational paths, and secure admissions to international universities. Daily tasks include one-on-one student counselling, providing resources for scholarships and test prep, and offering expert advice on navigating the application and admissions process. The Academic Counsellor will also collaborate with internal teams to refine counseling processes, participate in workshops or information sessions, and contribute to outreach activities that promote the organization’s services.
Qualifications
Strong Student Counseling and Academic Advising skills to support students across diverse academic and personal backgrounds
Strong communication skills and the ability to connect effectively with diverse students
Proficiency in Career and Education guidance to help students understand global study options and career pathways
Ability to build trust with students and families, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, and professional integrity
Experience working in academic advising, study abroad consulting, or education services, preferably with international admissions exposure
Comfort with using digital tools and basic data management systems to track student progress and coordinate applications
Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple student cases and deadlines effectively
Key Responsibilities
Counsel students and parents for Study Abroad programs (UK, EU, USA & other destinations)
Handle walk-ins and digital leads effectively
Maintain strong follow-up systems and pipeline tracking
Convert qualified leads into confirmed enrollments
Build trust with parents and manage objections professionally
Meet and exceed monthly admission targets
Coordinate with documentation and visa teams
Who we are looking for
1–3 years of experience in Study Abroad counselling or education sales
Strong closing and negotiation skills
Fluent in Tamil and English
Confident personality with strong communication skills
Ability to provide clear guidance on admissions and career prospects
Self-motivated and performance-driven
Comfortable working with targets
