Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced DGM – Finance to lead the Finance function for a well-established organization in the Automotive / Auto Components / Powertrain industry.
The role requires a commercially strong and strategic finance professional with 15+ years of experience, excellent command over financial management and accounting, and hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA / SAP HANA.
The incumbent will work closely with the CFO and business leadership to drive financial governance, profitability, working capital optimization, business finance, compliance, financial transformation, and strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Finance & Accounting Leadership
Lead the overall Finance & Accounts function, including accounting, taxation, treasury, audit, MIS, budgeting, costing, FP&A, compliance and business finance.
Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing and reporting.
Drive financial discipline, accounting standards, controls and governance across the organization.
Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to the CFO and senior management.
Budgeting, FP&A & Business Finance
Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting and long-term financial planning processes.
Drive variance analysis, financial modelling and profitability improvement initiatives.
Partner with business and operational teams to identify opportunities for cost optimization and margin improvement.
Develop and monitor key financial and operational KPIs.
Support strategic business decisions through robust financial analysis.
Taxation, Compliance & Audit
Ensure timely and effective management of GST, Income Tax, statutory compliance and regulatory requirements.
Lead statutory, internal and tax audits and ensure timely closure of audit observations.
Strengthen corporate governance and ensure adherence to applicable financial policies and regulations.
Establish and maintain effective internal financial controls.
Treasury & Working Capital
Own working capital management, cash-flow planning and liquidity management.
Manage banking relationships and oversee treasury operations.
Drive optimization of receivables, payables, inventory and overall cash conversion cycle.
Support financing and banking-related requirements in coordination with the CFO.
SAP Finance Transformation & Automation
Drive SAP S/4HANA / SAP HANA Finance initiatives, process improvements and finance automation.
Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting, controls, data quality and process efficiency through technology.
Partner with IT and business teams for finance transformation and ERP enhancement initiatives.
Leadership & Stakeholder Management
Lead, mentor and develop the finance team, including succession planning and capability building.
Build strong relationships with senior management, business heads, auditors, bankers and other key stakeholders.
Promote a culture of integrity, accountability, financial discipline and continuous improvement.
Candidate Requirements
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory.
15+ years of progressive experience in Finance & Accounts.
Automotive / Auto Components / Powertrain industry experience – Mandatory.
Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA / SAP HANA Finance – Mandatory.
Strong experience across Finance, Accounting, Taxation, Treasury, FP&A, Budgeting, Costing, MIS, Audit and Compliance.
Strong understanding of working capital, cash-flow management and financial controls.
Experience in driving finance transformation, automation and process improvement.
Strong business partnering and commercial acumen.
Big 4 experience will be an added advantage.
Candidates from established automotive / auto-component / powertrain organizations will be preferred.
