The MBO Director will lead SEA’s MBO team. This role will own the enterprise MBO framework end-to-end strategy, policy, scorecard design, target-setting methodology, and governance across all SEA lines of business. The role will be responsible for managing and developing MBO Team members, and represents MBO with the Leadership Committee and senior stakeholders across the enterprise.
This is a build role as we redesign the MBO plan to increase its effectiveness in driving our business, as well as rebuild our processes to leverage AI and other new technologies to increase efficiency. The successful candidate will stand up new capabilities and will partner closely with senior leadership during a transition period as the function is redesigned and rebuilt.
Role and Responsibilities

[Plan Strategy, Governance & Management]
Partner closely with HR to lead the enterprise MBO operating plan, rules, and policy functions, elevating MBO to a high-value strategic capability.
Design and govern the enterprise scorecard, including KPI structure, weighting, and priorities through the organization.
Lead target-setting methodology development and target calibration, ensuring difficulty and rigor of targets are reviewed, challenged, and consistent across Lines of Business (LOB)
Translate executive feedback (transparency, simplicity, and consistency concerns raised across MX, CE, eCom, Retail, Networks, Care, and People) into concrete improvements to plan structure, KPI design, and communication cadence.
[Modernization & Systems Oversight]
Direct the shift from manual, business-specific data collection and validation to AI- and system-driven, exception-based management.
Analyze and identify opportunities to upgrade current system infrastructure with AI and other new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Set standards for automated validation, data integration, scoring, dashboarding, and workflow / exception management delivered by the MBO Operations & Analytics Manager.
Skills and Qualifications
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field
12+ years of directly related experience in performance management, corporate strategy, financial planning & analysis, or business operations, including experience designing or governing enterprise-wide performance/incentive programs.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data and stakeholder feedback into scorecard design, policy, and process recommendations.
Excellent executive communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable operating across multiple Businesses and senior leaders with differing priorities.
Proven track record of operating in a matrixed organization, leading cross-functional teams, and driving strategic initiatives.
Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis and business performance evaluation.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior leadership.
Experience with MBO / performance management systems (e.g., Varicent) or enterprise scorecard / KPI platforms.
Familiarity with applying AI or automation to performance management, data validation, or reporting processes.
