Vice President, Global Partnerships & Business Development
The Vice President of Global Partnerships & Business Development is responsible for developing and managing international business relationships, identifying growth opportunities, and expanding the company’s global commercial network. This role leads partnership strategy, business development, market expansion, strategic account development, and cross-functional collaboration across multiple regions.
The VP of Global Partnerships & Business Development works closely with executive leadership and functional teams to evaluate market opportunities, develop partnership models, strengthen long-term business relationships, and establish scalable approaches for international growth.
Core Responsibilities
Develop and execute the global partnerships and business development strategy aligned with corporate objectives and long-term growth plans.
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, strategic markets, customer segments, and potential commercial relationships.
Build and maintain long-term relationships with strategic partners, enterprise customers, international financial organizations, industry groups, technology providers, and other relevant stakeholders.
Develop partnership models, commercial frameworks, collaboration structures, and joint business initiatives.
Lead the business development lifecycle from opportunity identification and qualification through negotiation, implementation, and ongoing relationship management.
Develop market-entry and expansion strategies for priority regions, with particular focus on the United States, Asia, and other international markets.
Build business relationships across multiple markets and coordinate regional development activities to support sustainable growth.
Develop and execute cross-border business development initiatives involving customers, partners, and organizations across different geographic markets.
Leverage experience working with international financial organizations to identify collaboration opportunities and develop long-term institutional relationships.
Develop strategies for serving institutional customers across multiple markets while maintaining consistent service standards and relationship-management practices.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, industry assessments, and commercial opportunity evaluations.
Build and manage a structured global partnership pipeline and prioritize opportunities based on strategic value, commercial potential, and organizational capabilities.
Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, Technology, and regional teams to develop and execute partnership initiatives.
Lead commercial discussions, business proposals, partnership negotiations, and relationship development with senior stakeholders.
Develop strategic account plans for high-value customers and business partners across multiple regions.
Establish partner performance frameworks, relationship-management processes, business reviews, and continuous improvement programs.
Identify opportunities for joint solutions, service development, market collaboration, and sustainable business growth.
Provide market intelligence, customer feedback, and partner insights to support product, service, and business development decisions.
Develop executive presentations, business cases, partnership proposals, market assessments, and growth recommendations.
Monitor partnership performance, market trends, pipeline development, relationship quality, and business-development results.
Develop standardized business development processes, CRM practices, opportunity-management frameworks, and reporting systems.
Support international expansion, regional business initiatives, strategic collaborations, and other major growth programs.
Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing global partnerships and business development organization.
Report partnership performance, commercial opportunities, market developments, relationship risks, and growth initiatives to the CEO, COO, and executive leadership team.
Typical Profile
15–20 years of progressive experience in business development, strategic partnerships, commercial strategy, enterprise sales, account management, market expansion, or related functions, including significant experience in senior leadership roles.
Extensive global or cross-border business experience, preferably involving both the United States and Asian markets.
Proven experience developing and managing strategic relationships across multiple international markets.
Experience working with international financial organizations, institutional customers, or other large-scale professional organizations preferred.
Demonstrated experience developing cross-border business opportunities and coordinating commercial activities across different geographic markets.
Experience serving and managing relationships with institutional customers across multiple markets preferred.
Professional fluency in English required; English and Chinese bilingual capability strongly preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing, Management, Communications, or a related field; MBA or equivalent advanced qualification preferred.
Strong understanding of business development strategy, partnership models, commercial planning, market analysis, account development, and relationship management.
Demonstrated record of identifying new opportunities, developing strategic relationships, and delivering measurable business growth.
Experience managing complex commercial discussions and building relationships with senior executives and organizational stakeholders.
Strong market research, competitive analysis, business-case development, financial evaluation, and strategic planning capabilities.
Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Product, Operations, Finance, Technology, Legal, and regional leadership teams.
Strong knowledge of CRM platforms, pipeline management, business intelligence, commercial analytics, and relationship-management systems.
Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, analytical, relationship-building, and decision-making skills.
Executive presence with strategic thinking, international perspective, commercial awareness, collaboration, integrity, accountability, and strong organizational leadership capabilities.
