Job Description
In this role, you will support the end-to-end lifecycle management of Client Incentive agreements, ensuring accurate accounting, forecasting, operational execution, and payment processing in line with contractual terms, US GAAP, and Visa governance requirements.
The position sits within Client Incentives Operations (CIO), part of Global Controllership. Working closely with Commercial, Finance, and Accounting stakeholders, you will help ensure client incentive arrangements are accurately represented, operationally executable, and managed effectively throughout their lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities:
Review client incentive agreements, amendments, and commercial proposals to assess operational feasibility, accounting implications, and alignment with Visa policies and governance requirements.
Support the setup, maintenance, monitoring, and actualization of client incentive arrangements in Oracle Revenue Management & Billing (ORMB) and related systems, ensuring contractual terms are accurately reflected.
Perform incentive actualization activities, including volume validation, accrual updates, variance analysis, forecasting support, and true-up calculations.
Prepare, review, and process client incentive payments in accordance with contractual terms, approval thresholds, SOX controls, and internal governance requirements.
Manage contract lifecycle events, including renewals, amendments, waivers, clawbacks, terminations, and other contract modifications.
Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including reconciliations, balance sheet substantiation, flux analysis, and accounting support.
Partner with Account Executives, Deal Management, FP&A, Accounting Policy, Legal, and other stakeholders to resolve operational, commercial, and accounting queries relating to client incentives.
Maintain accurate documentation, audit trails, and supporting evidence in line with internal control, governance, and audit requirements.
Identify process inefficiencies and contribute to automation, standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives across the Client Incentives Operations function.
Act as a subject matter expert on incentive operations, providing guidance on the interpretation and operational execution of client incentive arrangements.
Visa requires at least 3 days in office, expectations of these days will be confirmed by your Hiring Manager.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
5 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD
Preferred Qualifications:
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor's Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related discipline.
Experience in financial operations, accounting, controllership, revenue accounting, client incentives, or a related finance function.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and data accuracy.
Experience reviewing complex contractual arrangements and translating commercial terms into operational and accounting outcomes.
Understanding of financial controls, SOX requirements, audit standards, and compliance frameworks.
Strong knowledge of financial reporting concepts and accounting principles; familiarity with US GAAP is advantageous.
Advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and modelling. Experience with ERP and financial systems is preferred, with ORMB experience considered a strong advantage.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to partner effectively across Finance, Commercial, Legal, and Operations teams.
Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
Demonstrated ability to apply accounting judgement and analyse the financial implications of contractual and commercial arrangements is preferred.
