MDI (Welding & Coating) Offshore-UAE

Role Description This full-time MDI (Welding & Coating) Offshore-UAE role is based on-site in Chennai and focuses on welding and materials-related activities for offshore projects. The position involves performing and supervising Arc, MIG, and TIG welding tasks in line with project specifications and safety standards, including preparation, execution, and inspection of welds. The role includes reviewing material specifications, coordinating with project engineers on welding procedures, and ensuring quality control for coatings and welded joints. Daily responsibilities also cover maintaining welding equipment, documenting work progress, adhering to HSE guidelines, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet project timelines and technical requirements.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Welding and Arc Welding techniques for industrial and offshore applications.
Hands-on experience with TIG Welding and MIG Welding for diverse material types and thicknesses.
Solid understanding of Materials used in welding and coating, including their properties and behavior under offshore conditions.
Knowledge of welding codes, standards, and inspection practices relevant to offshore and structural work.
Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, welding procedure specifications (WPS), and project documentation.
Commitment to safety, with practical experience following HSE protocols in heavy industrial or offshore environments.
Relevant technical qualification or certification in welding or mechanical engineering; offshore or coating-related certifications are an advantage.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and adapt to project-based schedules and requirements.
