Staff/Lead Software Engineer – Retail Merchandising and PIM

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly technical, strategic, and domain-expert Lead / Staff Software Engineer to spearhead the engineering, integration, and automation of our core enterprise merchandising platforms. In this role, you will take full ownership of our master data and core merchandising ecosystem, PIM (Product Information Management) and Oracle Retail Suite (RMS / RMFCS). Oracle Retail Merchandising System (RMS) and Product Information Management (PIM) role bridges merchandising and data governance. You will design, configure, and maintain integrated platforms to manage enterprise product lifecycles, ensuring seamless data flow across supply chain, inventory, and point-of-sale systems. This is a strictly hands-on role. You will write code, build integrations, configure platforms, and actively architect the system. Beyond traditional software engineering, this position requires demonstrated experience in Agentic AI development. You will leverage various Large Language Models (LLMs) and autonomous AI frameworks to build intelligent agents that automate code development, data enrichment, flag inventory anomalies, and streamline global supply chain workflows.
Key Responsibilities
System Implementation & Integration: Design and implement Oracle Retail Merchandising Cloud Services (ORMCS) alongside any enterprise PIM platforms (Preferred Stibo Systems STEP). Actively write code, configure, and architect PIM/MDM platforms (such as Stibo STEP, Informatica MDM, Riversand, Akeneo, Pimcore, Salsify or similar) alongside Oracle Retail Merchandising Systems (RMS/RMFCS). Define enterprise-wide data models and product taxonomy. Engineer custom Stibo JavaScript business rules, state transitions, and approval workflows.
Data Governance & Modeling: Establish a single source of truth by aggregating, standardizing, and synchronizing product data (attributes, hierarchies, taxonomy).
Workflow Automation: Configure automated business rules and change-management workflows to review, approve, and enrich item data before it hits customer touchpoints.
Data Synchronization: Map and build data integration pipelines between RMS, PIM, ERP, and e-commerce systems to enable omnichannel journeys.
Lifecycle Management: Manage the end-to-end product lifecycle from vendor onboarding and purchase orders to pricing, inventory allocation, and fulfillment.
Agentic AI Development: Use production-grade Agentic AI frameworks to automate complex retail tasks.
Required Criteria & Technical Qualifications
Education: BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Retail Domain Expertise: 10+ years of core retail industry experience with a deep understanding of merchandise hierarchies, foundational inventory management, pricing systems, and supply chain operations.
Technical Stack Mastery: 8+ years of hands-on software development experience utilizing JavaScript, XML, XSD, JSON, Linux environments, and RESTful/SOAP Web Services.
PIM/MDM Experience: 8+ years of direct configuration and architecture experience with any leading PIM/MDM platforms (workflows, portal development, endpoint integrations).
Oracle Retail Experience: Deep technical exposure to Oracle RMS/RMFCS database schemas, including advanced capability writing/reviewing complex operational PL/SQL queries and performance-tuning Oracle databases.
Agentic AI Proficiency: Demonstrated experience in developing autonomous AI agents. Practical experience with prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines.
Delivery & Agility: Proven capability to prioritize deliverables, architect reusable systems, and collaborate with Product Management teams in a fast-paced Agile environment (Jira/Git).
Cloud Environments: Familiarity with deploying, configuring, and maintaining enterprise applications in cloud and SaaS environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Certification in any leading PIM/MDM platform but STEP is preferred
Oracle RMFCS Certification.
