Description
Amazon is looking for a Senior Investigation Specialist with a strong background in transportation fraud investigations, risk management, and advanced data-driven problem resolution. In this role, the Senior Investigation Specialist will lead complex investigations, mentor junior investigators, and work cross-functionally with stakeholders to build trust-based relationships in order to investigate sophisticated fraud patterns, address critical escalations, and design long-term systemic solutions that protect Amazon's transportation network and deliver a world-class customer experience. In this role, the Senior Investigation Specialist will own end-to-end investigation workflows related to Related Account Detection, drive process improvements, and influence program strategy through data insights.

Key job responsibilities
Own and drive end-to-end investigations of sophisticated fraud and abuse patterns, including multi-hop related account networks, with minimal guidance
Pull and synthesize data from multiple databases (using Excel, SQL, Access, and/or other data management systems) to perform deep-dive analysis, identify trends, and produce actionable insights
Coach and mentor Investigation Specialists on investigation methodology, SOP adherence, and quality standards
Identify root causes of defects, design and implement process improvements, and develop new SOPs that drive efficiency in Amazon's transportation operations
Proactively identify emerging fraud and abuse trends, quantify business impact, and recommend mitigation strategies to leadership
Partner with cross-functional teams to drive investigations to resolution; serve as the escalation point for complex cases
Consistently exceed productivity and quality targets while helping define team-level benchmarks
Create investigation narratives, present findings in review forums, and lead strategic projects including automation and tool development

Investigate complex multi-hop related account cases requiring judgment beyond standard SOPs
Mentor Investigations specialists through case reviews, calibration sessions, and real-time coaching
Analyze investigation data to identify systemic patterns and present insights to leadership
Meet and exceed productivity, quality, and other hygiene metrics/goals
Identify opportunities to Invent and Simplify processes, and deliver faster with higher standards of accuracy
Develop and document new investigation methodologies for emerging fraud/abuse patterns
Partner with stakeholder teams to drive gaps to closure and influence roadmap priorities
Basic Qualifications
3+ years of investigation, fraud detection, risk management, or compliance experience
1+ years of experience in transportation, logistics, or supply chain operations
Speak, write, and read fluently in English
Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (advanced Excel including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data modeling)
Experience with SQL or similar query languages for data extraction and analysis
Demonstrated experience leading process improvements or driving operational efficiency
Willingness to work flexible hours as per business requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with e-commerce or marketplace fraud investigations
Experience mentoring or training junior team members
Familiarity with data visualization tools (QuickSight, Tableau, or similar)
Knowledge of graph-based or network analysis techniques for detecting related accounts
Experience creating SOPs or investigation playbooks
Background in payments, identity verification, or account integrity
Ability to manage ambiguity and make sound decisions with incomplete information
Experience working with cross-functional teams in a global organization
