Job Summary
Micron is seeking a motivated and diligent Tool Install Qualification (TIQ) Safety Testing Technician. This role supports the safe installation and release of Pumps, Abatement, and Chiller (PAC) systems in our semiconductor manufacturing environment. In this role, you will partner with Facilities Engineering, Equipment Owners, Field Service Engineers (FSEs), and Trade teams to coordinate safety testing activities, validate equipment readiness, maintain critical documentation, and support on-time project execution.

You will play a key role in ensuring equipment meets safety and compliance requirements while helping to deliver reliable manufacturing operations. Responsibilities
Coordinate and manage TIQ safety testing activities to support timely equipment safety releases and installation achievements.
Perform interlock testing on PAC systems and verify that safety controls operate as intended prior to equipment release.
Partner with engineers, tool owners, contractors, and field service teams to schedule testing activities and resolve issues that may impact project timelines.
Facilitate Equipment Facilitation Form (EFF) reviews and approvals by ensuring testing, documentation, and stakeholder requirements are completed.
Update and maintain Tool Move Qualification (TMQ) records and equipment installation documentation to support compliance and traceability.
Process and support work orders related to PAC engineering changes, system configuration updates, testing requirements, and documentation revisions.
Coordinate gas change requests and support application review activities when required.
Maintain accurate safety release records, including testing results, approval documentation, and equipment turnover packages.
Follow established safety procedures, maintain situational awareness, and apply appropriate PPE while working in cleanroom and equipment support environments.
Look for opportunities to improve testing processes, documentation practices, and overall operational efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate degree in Mechatronics, Electronics, Industrial Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related technical field; equivalent technical experience or military training will also be considered.
2+ years of experience supporting semiconductor manufacturing equipment, industrial systems, tool installations, safety testing, automation, maintenance, or related technical operations.
Experience working with pumps, chillers, abatement systems, facility equipment, or comparable industrial technologies.
Ability to interpret technical procedures, complete documentation accurately, and communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, electronic, or software-related issues and documenting findings and corrective actions.
Flexibility to work varying shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, or alternate schedules based on business needs.
Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Preferred Qualifications
4+ years of experience supporting equipment installation, qualification, commissioning, interlock testing, system validation, or equipment release activities.
Experience working in semiconductor manufacturing, advanced manufacturing, cleanroom operations, or other highly regulated environments.
Proven ability to collaborate across engineering, operations, vendors, contractors, trade partners, and equipment support organizations.
Familiarity with controlled documentation systems, change management processes, work order systems, and equipment qualification records.
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.
