Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Transaction Support
Act as a primary contact for clients on Bank Guarantee and Standby Letter of Credit related inquiries.
Provide guidance and education to clients regarding guarantee structures, issuance requirements, claim provisions, governing rules, and market practices.
Support clients throughout the transaction lifecycle, ensuring a seamless onboarding and servicing experience.
Manage complex client requests and coordinate resolution across Operations, Product, Sales, Legal, Compliance, and Risk functions.
Bank Guarantee Text Vetting
Review, analyze, and vet Bank Guarantee and Standby Letter of Credit wording prior to issuance.
Identify legal, operational, compliance, and documentary risks within guarantee text.
Provide recommendations and alternative wording aligned with JPMorgan standards and market practice.
Coordinate with Trade Advisory, Legal, and Operations teams where required to resolve complex drafting issues.
Ensure all guarantee texts comply with applicable local regulations and internal policies.
Regulatory & Technical Expertise
Maintain strong knowledge of:
Chinese banking and guarantee regulations.
URDG 758.
ISP98.
UCP600 and related ICC trade rules.
Relevant sanctions, AML, and compliance requirements.
Monitor market and regulatory developments that may impact guarantee issuance and servicing activities.
Risk & Controls
Ensure adherence to internal control standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Escalate risk concerns promptly and appropriately.
Support audits, compliance reviews, and control testing activities as required.
Maintain data integrity and accurate documentation throughout transaction processing.
Stakeholder Management
Partner closely with Trade Operations, Trade Advisory, Product, Sales, Bankers, Compliance, Legal, and Risk teams.
Support client meetings and presentations related to trade finance solutions.
Contribute to service improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts.
Share knowledge and provide guidance to junior team members where appropriate.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Banking, International Trade, Business, Law, or related discipline.
Minimum 6 years of experience in Trade Finance, with significant exposure to Bank Guarantees and Standby Letters of Credit within China.
Strong understanding of:
Bank Guarantees
Standby Letters of Credit
Trade Finance Operations
International Trade Rules and Practices
Demonstrated experience reviewing and negotiating guarantee wording with clients and beneficiaries.
Working knowledge of Chinese regulatory requirements governing guarantees and trade finance transactions.
Strong communication skills in English and Mandarin, both written and verbal.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
