About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We are looking for an energetic and forward-thinking professional to join our newly created Open Banking Business Validation Team as a Senior Associate. In this pivotal role, you will have the opportunity to design and implement new processes that drive operational excellence and robust risk management for a rapidly expanding, revenue-generating business. You will collaborate with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to uphold the highest standards of risk management, transparency, and client service.
As a Senior Associate, Business Validation within Open Banking, you will be at the forefront of shaping how we manage risk and enable innovation in a rapidly evolving landscape. You’ll drive the development and enhancement of PMO and contractual frameworks, proactively reshaping clauses to address new product features, regulatory requirements, and the unique challenges introduced by agentic AI. Your expertise will ensure our agreements remain robust and adaptable, safeguarding both the business and our clients as products and technologies evolve. By leading end-to-end workstreams, collaborating on commercial models for data access, you will transform risk insights into practical solutions. Your work will not only strengthen our Open Banking platform and protect customer interests, but also foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement as we define the future of Open Banking at Chase.
The Chase Open Banking team is committed to empowering customers to share their financial data securely, safely, and transparently within the open banking ecosystem. Our mission is to deliver market-leading platforms that enable aggregators and direct connectors to securely access customer-permissioned data, while building out a two-sided business model that benefits both customers and commercial partners. We collaborate closely with partners across billing, invoicing, and are developing a self-service developer portal to streamline integration and access. We support our customers' ability to access their financial data and have full control and visibility in sharing it securely with the apps and companies they choose.
Job Responsibilities
Own end-to-end delivery of assigned data aggregator relationships within the Business Validation portfolio, serving as the day-to-day point of accountability for engagement planning, evidence requests, issue tracking, and disposition through closure.
Execute the Business Validation assurance methodology against assigned third parties, delivering the question set for each partner, collecting and assessing evidence against defined artifact standards, and documenting acceptable versus insufficient responses with clear rationale.
Analyze existing data access agreements and master service agreements to map contractual obligations, identify coverage gaps, and translate those obligations into testable control and evidence requirements.
Support the commercial workstream for new and renewing partnerships, via Project Management, including preparation of negotiation positions, redline analysis in partnership with Legal and Sourcing, term sheet and contract drafting, and tracking of agreed positions through execution.
Validate billing execution across the aggregator portfolio, reconciling invoiced volume against contractual pricing constructs, escalating variances, and supporting the transition from call-volume-based commercial models toward emerging consumption models.
Contribute to the firm's contracting posture for agentic AI and protocol-based data access, including delegation of authority, human oversight, audit rights, secondary use, and AI training restrictions.
Build and maintain project plans, scorecards, milestone timelines, and status reporting across concurrent workstreams, driving delivery in a matrixed environment where you influence far more than you control.
Oversee Chase's adherence to customer disclosure requirements, maintaining transparency and compliance across all Open Banking activities under Section 1033 and related regulatory frameworks.
Support third-party risk management (TPRM) processes and independent reviews, partnering with Controls, Compliance, and Supplier Relationship Management to align findings and remediation paths.
Develop, implement, and maintain business controls, procedures, and governance routines that mitigate operational, regulatory, and reputational risk as the platform scales, and produce executive-ready written materials and presentations that translate technical and contractual detail into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
Monitor the aggregator, fintech, and API ecosystem for emerging trends, competitive movement, and regulatory developments that affect our commercial and validation posture.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
5+ years of experience in financial services, payments, fintech, or professional services, with a proven track record in business validation, third-party oversight, risk and controls, or commercial partnership management.
Bachelor's degree required.
Demonstrated project and program management capability, able to run multiple concurrent workstreams to defined milestones, with a track record of driving deliverables to completion across functions.
Working knowledge of the data aggregator and API ecosystem, including how aggregators, direct connectors, and downstream applications consume customer-permissioned data.
Commercial acumen with direct exposure to contract negotiation, commercial term construction, vendor or partner agreement management, or pricing and billing constructs.
Ability to read, interpret, and operationalize contractual language, translating obligations into requirements, controls, and evidence standards
Good understanding of Open Banking, data access, and related regulatory and industry frameworks, including Section 1033.
Experience in client and contract management, including independent review and third-party risk management.
Strong communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to hold a firm position with external partners.
Exceptional organizational, multitasking, and prioritization abilities; high attention to detail with the ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to execute operational and commercial strategy in a complex, matrixed environment within a technology-driven product organization.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
Direct experience working with or at a data aggregator, open banking platform, or API-first financial technology company.
Familiarity with agentic AI, Model Context Protocol (MCP), or emerging machine-to-machine access models and their commercial and governance implications.
PMP, Six Sigma, or comparable project management or process improvement certification.
