Role Description The SOLR – Search & JAVA Expert will design, develop, and optimize search solutions using Apache Solr and Java for high-traffic, enterprise-scale digital commerce platforms. In this full-time remote role, the expert will implement search features such as relevance tuning, faceted search, autocomplete, and personalization, while ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability. Day-to-day work includes analyzing search requirements, building and maintaining Solr schemas, configuring indexes, integrating search services with microservices and APIs, and troubleshooting search-related issues. The role involves collaborating with product managers, data and cloud engineers, and front-end teams to deliver high-quality search experiences aligned with business goals. The expert will also monitor search metrics, perform keyword and usage analysis, and continuously improve search algorithms and relevance models.

Strong analytical skills to interpret search performance data, user behavior, and business requirements.
Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and clearly explain technical concepts.
Research and keyword research skills to understand user intent, optimize search relevance, and inform search configurations.
Experience with web analytics tools to measure search effectiveness, conversion impact, and user engagement.
Expert-level proficiency in Apache Solr (schema design, indexing, querying, tuning, clustering) and Java development.
Hands-on experience integrating search services into microservices, APIs, and cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Familiarity with eCommerce platforms (preferably SAP Commerce/Hybris) and large-scale, high-availability systems.
Knowledge of RESTful services, JSON, and related frameworks or libraries used in Java-based search applications.
Understanding of AI/ML concepts for search relevance, recommendations, and personalization is an advantage.
