Development Economist (AI Training)
About The Role
We're looking for experienced development economists to help shape how AI understands global and development economics. Your expertise will directly influence the accuracy, depth, and nuance of AI systems tackling some of the world's most complex economic challenges — from inequality and poverty to growth models and international policy.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role where your knowledge makes a measurable difference.

Type: Hourly / Task-Based Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
Review and evaluate AI-generated development economics questions, answers, and explanations used in AI training
Assess the quality of economic reasoning across topics such as growth theory, inequality, poverty reduction, and global development
Provide clear, structured feedback to improve factual accuracy and contextual nuance
Apply your real-world or academic experience to validate and stress-test economic scenarios
Identify gaps, errors, or oversimplifications in AI-generated content
Work independently and asynchronously to complete task-based assignments on your schedule
Who You Are
3+ years of experience teaching, researching, or working in development economics
Strong understanding of global economic issues, development frameworks, and data interpretation
Able to critically evaluate economic reasoning and communicate feedback clearly in writing
Comfortable working with structured review and annotation tasks
Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and reliable
Nice to Have
Graduate degree in Economics or a related field
Experience in field research, NGO work, or international economic policy
Familiarity with AI content evaluation or data annotation workflows
