Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Procurement professional to manage and drive the end-to-end procurement function for Junna Solar Systems Limited. The role will be responsible for sourcing, vendor development, commercial negotiations, purchase execution, material availability, cost optimization, and ensuring timely delivery of materials as per project and manufacturing requirements.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in industrial/manufacturing procurement, excellent negotiation skills, vendor management capabilities, and the ability to independently manage procurement activities from requirement to delivery.
Key Responsibilities
1. End-to-End Procurement
Manage the complete procurement cycle from material requirement to final delivery.
Review purchase requisitions, specifications, quantities, delivery requirements, and technical details.
Source materials, equipment, services, consumables, spares, and other requirements for projects and manufacturing operations.
Obtain and evaluate quotations, prepare comparative statements, negotiate commercials, and finalize suppliers.
Generate and release Purchase Orders in line with approved requirements and commercial terms.
Track orders closely to ensure timely delivery and avoid project/manufacturing delays.
2. Vendor Development & Management
Identify, evaluate, develop, and onboard new suppliers.
Build and maintain a reliable vendor base for critical materials and services.
Conduct vendor negotiations on price, payment terms, credit period, delivery schedules, warranty, quality, and other commercial conditions.
Continuously evaluate vendor performance based on cost, quality, delivery, and responsiveness.
Develop alternate sources for critical and high-value materials to minimize supply risk.
3. Cost Optimization
Drive cost reduction through effective negotiations, alternate sourcing, bulk procurement, and supplier development.
Benchmark market prices and maintain awareness of material price movements.
Identify opportunities for cost savings and value engineering in procurement.
Ensure procurement decisions provide the best combination of cost, quality, delivery, and reliability.
4. Project & Manufacturing Procurement
Work closely with Projects, Engineering, Manufacturing, Stores, Finance, and Management to understand upcoming requirements and procurement priorities.
Develop procurement plans based on project timelines and manufacturing schedules.
Ensure critical materials are available ahead of requirement dates.
Closely monitor long-lead items and highlight potential supply risks to management.
Support procurement planning for new projects, plant expansion, and manufacturing requirements.
5. Purchase & Order Management
Maintain proper documentation for RFQs, quotations, negotiations, comparative statements, approvals, POs, and vendor correspondence.
Track open POs and ensure timely closure.
Coordinate with vendors, logistics, stores, and internal teams for material dispatch and receipt.
Resolve issues related to shortages, delays, quality, specifications, and commercial terms.
6. Payment & Commercial Coordination
Coordinate with Finance for vendor payment processing as per agreed terms.
Monitor advance payment requirements and ensure proper approvals.
Support management in negotiating favorable payment and credit terms.
Maintain visibility of outstanding vendor commitments and upcoming payment requirements.
7. Procurement Planning & Reporting
Prepare regular procurement status reports covering:
Open purchase requirements
PO status
Pending deliveries
Critical materials
Vendor-wise status
Cost savings
Payment/advance requirements
Procurement risks and escalations
Provide management with timely visibility on procurement status and potential bottlenecks.

Ability to work independently and take ownership
Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Procurement, Commerce, or a related field.
MBA/PG qualification in Supply Chain/Procurement will be an added advantage.
