Project Engineer

This role is for candidates with a Mechanical Engineering background — not for Software/IT professionals.
Ledvore is hiring an experienced Project Engineer to be the dedicated point of contact for one of our international automotive clients, based full-time out of our Coimbatore office. This is a senior, client-facing role centered on relationship management, communication, and documentation — supporting the client's Europe/USA-based teams through portal management and clear, consistent communication.
Key Responsibilities:
Own customer portal activity on behalf of the client (automotive supplier/sourcing portals) — managing RFQs and open tasks through to closure with minimal oversight
Act as the senior communication point between the client's European/US teams and internal stakeholders
Prepare, track, and maintain accurate documentation (reports, technical correspondence, status trackers)
Review technical drawings/specifications when required (basic CAD literacy expected)
Build and manage strong, long-term relationships with international client contacts, including senior stakeholders
Mentor or guide junior team members on portal processes and client communication practices
Work on a shift basis, including a second shift (11:00 AM–12:00 PM start) to overlap with European/US working hours
Use AI tools where useful to improve documentation and communication efficiency
Requirements:
Mechanical Engineering degree or equivalent — required
6–7 years of experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in automotive/industrial B2B
Fluent in English — written and spoken (essential, daily communication with Europe/USA clients)
Proven experience interacting directly with customers/clients (any industry background considered, as long as customer interaction was core to the role)
Basic working knowledge of CAD (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
Strong documentation and follow-up discipline
Comfortable with shift-based working hours
