MantriAI is a boutique search firm for technology companies. We are running this mandate for a client - An Ecommerce player operating out of the US market.
The role
You will own the Amazon business: revenue, contribution margin, market share and day-to-day channel performance. You will combine hands-on advertising and marketplace operations with leadership of the current US agency, then build an in-house Amazon function in India. You will recommend the transition plan, including which activities to bring in-house and which to retain with external partners.
What you will own - Own forecasts for revenue, spend, TACOS, ACOS and contribution margin. Make growth decisions that account for Amazon fees, fulfilment, returns and promotions, and reconcile reporting across Amazon, Shopify, Triple Whale and finance. - Set strategy, budgets and operating decisions across Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands, Sponsored Display and DSP. Stay hands-on with campaign performance and guide agency execution. - Improve listings, product detail pages, A+ content and the brand store. Own catalogue health, pricing, Buy Box, Brand Registry, promotions and account issue resolution. - Coordinate inventory health and restocking with operations and 3PL partners. Align spend and promotions with stock availability, and coordinate Amazon events with other commerce channels. - Set KPIs and review cadence, hold the agency accountable for business results, and revise scope or recommend renegotiating or replacing providers where needed. - Recommend the team structure, hire operators and build the playbook. Establish clear decision rules for budgets, campaigns, promotions and reporting.
What you will bring
- 6+ years running Amazon for consumer or D2C brands, with sustained ownership of multi-million-dollar annual advertising spend and personal authority over strategy and budgets.
- Experience scaling Amazon revenue through USD 10 million-plus, or a comparable scale in your market.
- Strong Sponsored Products, Sponsored Brands and Sponsored Display skills, with fluency in both Seller Central and Vendor Central.
- A clear understanding of contribution margin, including Amazon fees, fulfilment, returns and promotion economics, and how these should influence spend, pricing and growth decisions.
- Experience managing agencies and building or restructuring an in-house Amazon function, including hiring.
- You have personally built systems and decision rules for running an Amazon business.
- You solve problems independently, communicate decisions clearly and take ownership in a lean, remote team.
Experience running Amazon in India is welcome; US Amazon experience is not mandatory.
Logistics This is a full-time role based remotely in India, requiring meaningful overlap with US working hours. The exact schedule, final compensation package, payment currency and engagement route will be confirmed during the hiring process.
Joining in approximately 30 days is preferred.
