ABOUT THE ROLE
The NOC Network Technician L1 monitors network infrastructure, validates events, performs initial diagnosis, documents incidents and escalates cases according to established procedures. The role supports service continuity through timely alert handling, accurate ticket updates and professional communication with internal teams, customers and third-party providers.
WHAT YOU’ WILL DO: in this role your key responsibilities will be:
Monitoring and Event Management
Monitor network devices and services using approved observability platforms.
Validate alerts, determine the initial impact and follow event-handling procedures.
Perform Level 1 diagnostics using approved tools, commands, runbooks and SOPs.
Incident and Request Management
Create, classify, prioritize and update tickets in the ITSM platform.
Maintain complete, clear and chronological work notes to ensure traceability.
Escalate incidents to advanced support teams within agreed operational and SLA thresholds.
Track assigned cases through service restoration or formal handoff.
Communication and Coordination
Provide timely updates to customers and internal stakeholders.
Support bridge calls and major-incident coordination when requested.
Coordinate with carriers, ISPs, data-center teams, vendors and resolver groups according to established procedures.
Operational Documentation and Improvement
Use and maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, checklists and SOPs.
Identify recurring operational issues and propose improvements to monitoring, documentation or workflow.
Participate in training, knowledge transfer and continuous-improvement activities.
WHO YOU ARE
Technical diploma, university studies or equivalent experience in networking, telecommunications, systems engineering or information technology. (No requirement)
Intermediate English communication skills, written and verbal (Prefer no required); Spanish required for LATAM operations where applicable.
Availability for rotating shifts, weekends and holidays based on the approved coverage model.
Customer focus, analytical thinking, attention to detail, accountability, teamwork, adaptability and continuous learning.
ITIL Foundation, CCNA or equivalent entry-level certification is desirable.
Technical knowledge
TCP/IP, IPv4, subnetting, routing and switching fundamentals.
VLANs, trunking, STP, DNS, DHCP, NAT, VPN and wireless fundamentals.
Basic understanding of OSPF, BGP, SD-WAN, firewalls and load balancing.
Basic operational exposure to Cisco, Meraki, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Check Point or F5 technologies.
Experience with ITSM and monitoring tools such as ServiceNow, SolarWinds, ScienceLogic SL1, NetBrain or equivalent platforms.
