Role Description This is a part-time, remote Student Counselor role focused on guiding prospective students who plan to study in Germany. The Student Counselor will conduct one-on-one counseling sessions to discuss academic profiles, career goals, and suitable university options. Daily tasks include responding to student and parent inquiries, explaining application procedures, visa processes, and accommodation options, and providing clear, accurate information about studying and living in Germany. The role involves maintaining detailed records of student interactions, preparing guidance materials or presentations, and collaborating with the team to refine counseling processes and resources. The Student Counselor will ensure communication is empathetic, professional, and aligned with BVF Germany’s commitment to transparent, ethical support.
Qualifications
Student Counseling and Career Counseling skills to support learners in making informed academic and career decisions.
Strong Communication skills to explain complex processes clearly and to interact with students and families from diverse backgrounds.
Customer Service skills to manage inquiries, resolve concerns, and provide a positive, responsive counseling experience.
Background or knowledge in Education to understand academic pathways, admission requirements, and study programs.
Fluency in English; additional language skills in reginal language (Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam) are an advantage.
Experience working with international students or in educational consultancy is beneficial.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage multiple cases, and maintain accurate documentation.
Strong ethical standards, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine interest in student development and wellbeing.
