Role Description The Director of Portfolio Management is a full-time remote role responsible for overseeing the strategic planning, prioritization, and execution of projects and programs across the organization. This role manages the project portfolio to align investments with business objectives, optimizes resource allocation, and monitors performance against key financial and operational metrics. Day-to-day responsibilities include evaluating proposals, assessing risk and ROI, coordinating with cross-functional leaders, and maintaining a centralized view of portfolio health. The Director will lead portfolio governance processes, prepare reports and recommendations for senior leadership, and drive continuous improvement in portfolio and program management practices. This role also mentors team members, supports stakeholder communication, and ensures compliance with organizational policies and standards.
Qualifications
Strong Analytical Skills to interpret complex data, evaluate business cases, and support evidence-based decision-making.
Demonstrated expertise in Portfolio Management and Project Portfolio Management to oversee multiple initiatives and balance risk, value, and resources.
Experience in Program Management and Finance to manage budgets, track financial performance, and align programs with strategic priorities.
Proficiency with portfolio management tools and methodologies (e.g., PMO frameworks, governance processes, dashboards, and reporting systems).
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence and present to senior leadership.
Proven leadership experience guiding cross-functional teams, driving change, and fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certification (e.g., PMP, PgMP, PfMP) is a plus.
