Project Analyst : Commercial Onboarding Service
This Project Analyst role is responsible for leading the end-to-end onboarding and implementation of Corporate Card programs for corporate clients across Japan and global markets. From contract signing through card issuance and initial program adoption, the successful candidate will ensure a seamless implementation experience while accelerating client readiness and early spend realization.
Working closely with clients and cross-functional stakeholders—including Global Commercial Services (GCS), International Card Services (ICS), and other internal teams—this individual will coordinate implementation activities, manage project timelines, and ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements. The role also requires overseeing technical integration of American Express solutions, including data file setup, program management, and reconciliation tools, while proactively resolving implementation challenges.
Success in this role is measured by implementation speed, billings, client spend ramp-up, value-added product penetration, and customer satisfaction, in line with the Fast, Full, Focused, and Efficient promise. In addition, the role is expected to identify opportunities to improve implementation processes and operational efficiency, while capturing client feedback and market insights to support continuous enhancement of products, solutions, and the overall customer experience.
Knowledge of procure to pay processes, financial and AP and reconciliation processes.
Strong project management skills

Relationship management and negotiation skills
Strong process and project management capabilities, with a demonstrated results orientation, including the ability to prioritize across multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in using metrics / KPIs to track performance and drive results
Strong collaboration, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex and abstract ideas clearly and simply
Experience working in a global / matrixed environment
Fluency in Japanese is required
Business-level proficiency in English is required
Manage client onboarding by guiding application completion and collecting all required legal documentation to initiate implementation
Ensure seamless setup of all account components, including identifying and resolving missing information, managing card member applications, configuring internal platforms, Corporate/Personal Membership Rewards, billing support files, payment methods, and other in-scope requirements
Input and maintain data for new and expanding corporate clients within risk management tools, ensuring accurate program setup
Deliver high-quality, dedicated advisory support to clients throughout the implementation and enrollment lifecycle
Drive early client engagement through calls and emails to support card activation and proactively address low or inactive accounts to increase charge volume
Monitor billing and payment processes, engaging with clients at key milestones to ensure accurate billing and timely settlement
Take ownership of initiatives to improve and enhance existing tools, systems, and operational processes
Collaborate with Sales, Account Sales, and Implementation Managers to ensure successful implementation and smooth handover to the relevant teams
