About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
Digantara is building the intelligence and infrastructure layer for an increasingly congested and contested space domain. Founded in 2018 and headquartered in Bengaluru, with teams in Colorado Springs (US) and Singapore, Digantara operates its own space-based sensor constellation (SCOT) and Asia's first commercial Space Domain Awareness (SDA) Command & Control Centre, fusing optical, radar and other sensor data — via architectures such as MOSAIC — into a real-time, sovereign picture of every object in orbit.
The company works with defence and government agencies and commercial satellite operators around the world and has raised significant capital — including a recent $50M round — from investors such as Peak XV Partners, Aditya Birla Ventures and SIDBI Venture Capital to advance sovereign space intelligence. Digantara's mission is to secure the space domain for the 21st century, built on the belief that as space is democratised, resilience depends on reliability.
Digantara is a fast-paced, high-ownership environment where small teams of scientists, engineers and operators solve problems that, in many cases, no one has solved before. If you want your work to directly determine how nations and companies protect their assets in orbit, this is that kind of place.
About The Role
We're looking for a Product Lead to own Digantara's SDA and conjunction-analysis product line — from problem definition through global rollout. You'll work shoulder-to-shoulder with algorithms, data science and engineering teams to turn hard orbital and sensor-fusion problems into product decisions that customers will pay for and rely on.
You do not need to understand the underlying physics or astrodynamics. You do need to get to first principles fast, translate customer and business context into ruthless, defensible prioritisation, and own outcomes with real independence. You will be the primary product voice in front of defence, government and commercial customers worldwide, and you will largely determine — not just execute — the roadmap and strategy for one of Digantara's most important products.
Roles & Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Prioritisation:
Own the vision, strategy and multi-quarter roadmap for STARS Intelligence products, and defend it independently to leadership, customers and engineering.
Drive prioritisation using customer needs, business impact and first-principles reasoning — not engineering interest or research novelty alone.
Make explicit trade-off calls between depth (algorithmic sophistication) and speed-to-value for customers, and be accountable for the outcomes of those calls.
Customer & Market Engagement
Serve as the primary product interface to global customers — defence and government agencies, commercial satellite operators, and insurers/regulators — running discovery, validating problems, and shaping scope directly with them.
Partner with Sales and Business Development on positioning, pricing and packaging of Intelligence products across government/defence and commercial segments, including support for proposals and technical/commercial conversations.
Working With Algorithms & Engineering
Partner day-to-day with algorithms and data science teams to scope SDA capabilities into shippable product increments — asking the right questions without needing to derive the underlying models yourself.
Write clear PRDs and specs that translate complex technical trade-offs into unambiguous customer and business requirements.
Define success metrics (accuracy, latency, coverage, customer outcomes) jointly with engineering and hold the roadmap accountable to them.
Run planning and prioritisation forums, track delivery against roadmap, and unblock cross-team dependencies.
What We're Looking For
6+ years in product management, having owned a product's strategy and roadmap (ideally 0-to-1 or through a major scale-up) in a technical, data- or analytics-heavy domain serving enterprise, government or defence customers.
Roadmap and prioritisation: A demonstrated ability to drive prioritisation from customer and business impact and first-principles reasoning, without needing subject-matter depth (physics, orbital mechanics) to do it credibly.
Stakeholder management: A track record of earning trust and driving decisions with highly technical teams — scientists, algorithm engineers, PhDs — as an equal partner rather than a backlog administrator.
Real autonomy in prior roles: comfortable setting direction, making the call, and owning the outcome rather than waiting for it to be handed down.
Location: Hebbal, Bangalore
WFO 5 days from office.
