SAP Data Migration Lead

Role Description The SAP Data Migration Lead is a full-time, hybrid role based in India, with a mix of on-site work and work from home as project needs allow. This role is responsible for planning, leading, and executing end-to-end data migration activities for SAP implementations and transformations. Day-to-day tasks include defining migration strategy, coordinating data mapping and data cleansing with functional and business teams, and overseeing data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes. The role involves building and managing migration plans, monitoring data quality, validating migrated data, and resolving data-related issues throughout project lifecycles. The SAP Data Migration Lead will collaborate closely with project managers, SAP consultants, and client stakeholders, provide status updates, manage risks, and ensure that data migration is delivered on time, within scope, and according to quality standards.
Qualifications
Strong experience leading SAP data migration projects, including planning, strategy, and execution across multiple SAP modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, HR, etc.).
Hands-on expertise with data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) tools and techniques, and familiarity with SAP data structures and integration methods.
Proficiency in data analysis, data profiling, and data quality management, including data cleansing and validation in collaboration with functional and business teams.
Ability to create and manage detailed migration plans, cutover plans, and migration-related documentation, with strong attention to detail and risk management.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including experience working with cross-functional teams and presenting complex data topics clearly.
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot data issues and drive root-cause analysis and resolution under project timelines.
Experience working in hybrid and distributed teams; ability to work independently and coordinate effectively across on-site and remote contexts.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; SAP certification or specialized data migration training is an advantage.
Prior experience with large-scale SAP implementations, S/4HANA migrations, or system upgrades is highly desirable.
