Java Developer

Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable, and highly available enterprise applications for banking and financial services platforms.
Develop distributed applications supporting critical banking functions such as account management, payments, transaction processing, loans, cards, and financial reporting.
Build robust and high-performance applications using Core Java, Java EE/JEE, Spring Framework, Spring Boot, and RESTful APIs.
Implement reliable and scalable solutions while adhering to banking industry standards, security requirements, and enterprise architecture principles.
Follow Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) practices to ensure reliable, automated, and frequent application releases.
Ensure high code quality by following software engineering best practices, clean coding standards, design patterns, code reviews, unit testing, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
Work collaboratively with business analysts, architects, QA engineers, DevOps engineers, and other cross-functional teams in an Agile/Scrum delivery environment.
Apply DevOps principles throughout the complete software development lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, production support, monitoring, and incident resolution.
Develop and optimize database interactions using SQL, Oracle PL/SQL, and RDBMS technologies, with a strong focus on performance tuning and transaction integrity.
Analyze and troubleshoot application performance, production issues, and system bottlenecks to ensure high availability and reliability of financial applications.
Apply Java concurrency, multithreading, exception handling, collections, JVM concepts, and performance optimization techniques in enterprise applications.
Implement secure integration solutions using REST APIs, messaging frameworks, middleware, and enterprise integration patterns.
Contribute to technical design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure applications comply with organizational security, audit, data privacy, and regulatory requirements applicable to banking and financial services.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior developers and contribute to effective team delivery.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
5+ years of professional experience developing and supporting production-grade enterprise applications using Core Java.
Strong knowledge of Core Java, OOP, Collections, Exception Handling, Multithreading, Java 8+ features, Generics, and JVM fundamentals.
Strong experience with Spring Framework / Spring Boot, Java EE/JEE, and enterprise application development.
Good understanding of Java Enterprise Design Patterns, Integration Patterns, SOLID principles, and enterprise software engineering best practices.
Hands-on experience developing RESTful web services and microservices.
Experience with Test-Driven Development (TDD) and unit testing frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
Strong experience with SQL and Oracle databases, including PL/SQL, query optimization, indexing, execution plans, and database performance tuning.
Experience working with RDBMS technologies and transaction management.
Knowledge of messaging and integration technologies such as Kafka, JMS, or similar middleware frameworks is preferred.
Experience with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices, including automated build, testing, deployment, and production support.
Strong understanding of application security, authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding practices.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
Prior experience in banking, financial services, payments, capital markets, or fintech is highly desirable.
Required Experience & Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or an equivalent academic/professional qualification.
5+ years of hands-on experience developing Core Java enterprise applications in a production environment.
Strong expertise in Core Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, SQL/Oracle, unit testing, and enterprise application development.
Experience working with distributed, scalable, and highly available applications.
Experience in the banking or financial services domain is preferred.
