Vibration Support Analyst

THIS IS A LONG TERM CONTRACT POSITION WITH ONE OF THE LARGEST, GLOBAL, TECHNOLOGY LEADER.
Our client is looking for an experienced Vibration Support Analyst to support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance activities for rotating equipment. The role involves vibration data collection and analysis, machinery fault diagnosis, technical reporting, and basic troubleshooting of IoT vibration sensors and gateways.
Minimum Qualifications
5+ years of hands-on experience in vibration analysis and condition monitoring.
ISO 18436-2 Category II or Category III Vibration Analyst certification.
Hands-on experience using FFT analyzers for vibration analysis and fault diagnosis.
Strong experience diagnosing common machinery faults, including:
Unbalance
Misalignment
Looseness
Bearing defects
Gear faults
Resonance
Experience analyzing vibration data from rotating equipment such as pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, fans, and generators.
Experience using predictive maintenance software for fault diagnosis and recommending corrective actions.
Technical educational background, preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
Strong ability to interpret vibration trends and identify early-stage equipment failures.
Experience preparing technical reports and communicating findings to maintenance, operations, and engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CMMS software.
Maintenance or service technician experience.
Experience with other predictive maintenance disciplines such as:
Thermography
Oil analysis
Ultrasound analysis
Electrical current analysis
Experience working with IoT vibration sensors and gateways.
Basic experience troubleshooting sensor and gateway connectivity issues.
Experience developing troubleshooting guides, technical documentation, or maintenance best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Condition Monitoring & Analysis
Perform vibration data collection and analysis for rotating equipment.
Validate data quality, sensor placement, measurement routes, and measurement settings.
Analyze vibration trends and identify early-stage equipment failures.
Diagnose machinery faults and determine their severity and potential impact.
Reporting & Recommendations
Prepare clear and concise technical reports covering fault diagnosis, severity assessment, and corrective recommendations.
Communicate findings to operations, maintenance teams, and engineering support personnel.
Support maintenance planning by prioritizing equipment defects based on risk and criticality.
Connectivity & Troubleshooting
Monitor the day-to-day connectivity of IoT vibration sensors and gateways.
Perform basic troubleshooting when hardware or sensors go offline.
Identify anomalies and patterns in vibration data, including spikes, connectivity drops, and unusual trends.
Escalate potential issues to the vibration analyst team for deeper investigation.
Contribute to internal troubleshooting guides and best practices.
