This posting is for experienced software engineers based in Romania who would like to be assessed for admission to the Vertx Talent Network and considered for future international client engagements.
Vertx Talent connects vetted software engineers with technology companies through ongoing independent B2B contractor engagements.
ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Vertx engagements are typically remote, independent B2B contractor arrangements involving direct collaboration with client engineering teams.
Once approved to join the Vertx Talent Network, you may be considered for suitable future projects and longer-term engagements based on your experience, technical stack, availability and client requirements.
Joining the network does not require you to leave any existing role or engagement. You remain free to consider opportunities only when they are relevant to you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As part of the Vertx Talent Network, you must:
• Personally complete all interviews, assessments and client work
• Contract and invoice Vertx directly in your own legal capacity
• Enter and perform work as an independent B2B contractor
• Demonstrate software you personally designed, built or maintained
• Work remotely within international engineering teams
• Collaborate directly with client engineering teams
• Maintain professional communication throughout an engagement
• Complete the Vertx vetting and onboarding process
THE VERTX VETTING PROCESS
Our assessment process may include:
• Experience and background review
• Identity verification
• Practical technical assessment completed personally by you
• Live technical review with an experienced engineer
• Independent contractor and compliance review
• Final approval to join the Vertx Talent Network
QUALIFICATIONS
You should:
• Have 6+ years of genuine professional software engineering experience
• Have strong professional English communication skills
• Be comfortable working remotely within international engineering teams
• Be able to work independently and take ownership of your work
• Be legally able to enter into an independent B2B contractor engagement
TECHNICAL AREAS
We are interested in experienced engineers across areas including:
• Full-Stack Engineering

Common technologies across client requirements may include:
• Node.js
• Python

You do not need experience with every technology listed.
Matching depends on your individual background and the requirements of each client engagement.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
We particularly value engineers who:
• Can demonstrate software they personally designed, built or maintained
• Have experience working remotely with international teams
• Have worked on production systems used by real customers
• Can communicate technical decisions clearly
• Are comfortable joining established engineering teams and codebases
ENGAGEMENTS, RATES AND PAYMENT
Exact rates, working hours, engagement duration and client requirements are provided before you decide whether to accept any opportunity.
Successful admission to the Vertx Talent Network means you can be considered for suitable future client engagements.
Admission does not guarantee immediate paid work, placement or a specific client opportunity.
Vertx manages the commercial and operational layer around approved engagements, including contracts, invoicing, contractor payments, compliance and ongoing client administration.
INDEPENDENT ENGINEERS ONLY
This intake is strictly for individual independent contractors who personally perform the work.
One identity. One engineer. One contract.
The person who:
• Applies
• Completes the assessment
• Interviews
• Signs the contract
• Delivers the work
must be the same person.
Proxy interviews, substituted engineers, subcontracting, shared identities or undisclosed third-party involvement will result in rejection or termination of the engagement.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
You should apply if you:
• Have 6+ years of genuine professional software engineering experience

• Can contract and invoice Vertx directly in your own legal capacity
• Are available to enter independent B2B contractor engagements
• Have strong professional English communication
• Can demonstrate software you personally designed, built or maintained
• Are comfortable working remotely within international engineering teams
WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY
Please do not apply if you are:
• Applying through a software house, agency, consultancy, outsourcing company or staffing company
• Being supplied to Vertx by an employer or third party
• Planning to subcontract any part of the engagement
• Using a shared company or team account
• Intending for another person to complete your assessment, interview or client work
• Unable to contract directly with Vertx
• Restricted by your current employment agreement from independently providing services
Working from a home office, coworking space or your own private office is completely fine.
What matters is that you are genuinely independent and personally perform the work.
