Short Description
Are you a technically strong marine professional who can keep specialised work vessels ready for operation? We are looking for a Vessel Technical Superintendent in Denmark to manage the technical condition of pontoons and work vessels, support the crew, and reduce downtime on a major marine construction project.
Function Description
As Vessel Technical Superintendent you are the first point of contact for the bridge and engine room teams. You give guidance on maintenance and repairs, keep the vessels technically compliant, and promote safe working practice on board and ashore.
You manage the technical state of the assigned vessels together with the crew. That includes the planned maintenance system, spare parts, procedures, manuals, equipment history and certification. You plan and control maintenance so planned and unplanned downtime stays as low as possible, in close alignment with Operations. You solve acute technical problems, support the crew both remotely and on board, and coach technical crew on maintenance, safety, logistics and cost awareness.
The fleet includes immersion pontoons, spreader and protection layer pontoons, a multi-purpose pontoon, dive support pontoon, stone dumping equipment and transfer, survey, harbour and work vessels. You may also be involved in PMS set-up, spare-part identification, supplier selection and crew build-up. You work with the technical buyer on parts, consumables and supplier agreements, give input to budgets and cost allocation, and report to the Marine Fleet Manager.
Requirements
Maritime or technical education (marine engineering or equivalent)
Experience as (chief) engineer and/or vessel technical superintendent
Knowledge of planned maintenance systems, class and statutory certification
Able to plan maintenance around operational demands and keep spare parts under control
Strong communication skills and a practical, safety-minded way of working with crew
Fluent in English, both written and spoken
Willing to work in Denmark and go on board when required
Experience with pontoons, work vessels or offshore construction equipment is an advantage
