Executive Producer

Emerald Cut Productions is an independent production company developing original film, documentary, digital media, podcast, and AI-assisted entertainment properties. ECP focuses on strong concepts, distinctive storytelling, and building projects from early development through packaging, production, and release.
The company is currently expanding its production infrastructure and senior creative leadership while advancing several projects at different stages of development. Our slate includes scripted feature properties, documentary work, digital programming, branded media, podcast development, and emerging AI-assisted production. Several projects already have completed or advanced creative-development materials and are moving toward sizzle development, packaging, financing, production partnerships, and eventual distribution.
We are seeking an experienced Executive Producer to become involved with this developing slate.
Current projects include an original contemporary romantic comedy moving toward sizzle development and packaging; an emotionally driven documentary and public-interest project centered on the human-animal bond; additional scripted feature properties in development; and digital and podcast properties with existing brands and audiences.
Work Scope: This is a senior strategic and creative role rather than a day-to-day production-management position.
We are particularly interested in an Executive Producer who brings meaningful professional experience, judgment, and relationships in one or more of the following areas:
• Film and television financing, including investors, lenders, production financing, and strategic funding relationships
• Packaging and attachment of producers, talent, directors, production companies, or other meaningful partners
• Studio, network, streamer, distributor, sales-agent, and production-company relationships
• Independent film financing structures, production loans, incentives, co-production arrangements, or related financing pathways
• Distribution, sales, acquisitions, and market positioning
• Strategic partnerships and introductions that can help properly positioned projects move from development into production
• Creative development, story evaluation, script and treatment review, and production strategy
The Founder/CEO remains closely involved in original concepts, creative development, and final creative approval. The Executive Producer would work collaboratively with the Founder/CEO and other senior creative leadership to strengthen projects through development, packaging, production strategy, and execution.
Qualifications
Demonstrated experience leading film, television, or multimedia projects as an Executive Producer, Producer, or similar leadership role.
Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordinating remote teams and vendors.
Ability to develop and evaluate creative concepts, scripts, beat sheets, and treatments while preserving narrative integrity and emotional impact.
Experience with fundraising, financing structures, grants, and investor or partner relations for media projects.
Familiarity with production workflows across development, pre-production, production, and post-production, including digital and emerging media platforms.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative environment.
Knowledge of distribution strategies for film, television, podcasting, and digital media, including marketing and audience engagement considerations.
Commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory storytelling and team practices; ability to build and support diverse creative teams.
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media Production, Communications, or equivalent professional experience.
Meaningful creative input, constructive challenge, and experienced perspective are welcome. Strong Executive Producers and showrunners often bring substantial creative value to a project, and ECP is interested in professionals who can contribute ideas, perspective, story instincts, and production insight while respecting the established creative vision and leadership structure of the company.
Helping ensure projects are positioned at a professional standard for financing, packaging, production, and market presentation.
Experience collaborating effectively with writers, directors, producers, talent, production teams, vendors, financiers, distributors, and other creative and business partners is highly valued.
ECP already has Executive Producer involvement on selected projects and is building a broader production team that includes traditional production professionals as well as specialists working in emerging AI-assisted production workflows. This position is intended to expand that leadership bench, not replace existing creative or production leadership.
Specific project materials will be discussed with qualified candidates following an introductory conversation and appropriate confidentiality arrangements.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated senior-level experience in film, television, documentary, digital media, or related entertainment production and should understand how projects move from development through packaging, financing, production, post-production, and market.
Strong candidates should also demonstrate professional judgment, communication skills, creative intelligence, and the ability to work collaboratively with established creative leadership while independently bringing relationships, strategic thinking, and experienced perspective to the table.
Experience with independent film financing, production loans, investor relationships, studio or distributor relationships, sales agents, talent packaging, production incentives, or strategic partnerships is particularly valuable.
Formal education in film, media, communications, business, or a related discipline may be beneficial but is not required. Meaningful professional experience, relationships, credits, and demonstrated ability are more important.
This is a remote, contract opportunity. Participation may vary by project depending on scope, stage, availability, and fit.
COMPENSATION - DEFERRED/BACKEND/CUSTOME ARRANGEMENTS: ECP is currently in a development and pre-financing stage.
This is not presently a salaried position and does not offer guaranteed upfront compensation.
Executive Producer participation and compensation would be negotiated on a project-by-project basis and may initially include deferred compensation and/or defined project-specific backend participation. Conventional paid production arrangements may become applicable as individual projects obtain financing.
We want the compensation structure to be completely clear before conversations begin.
This opportunity is best suited to an experienced Executive Producer who is comfortable becoming involved during development and packaging and who sees value in helping strong projects reach financing, production, and market.
