About the Role - Senior Java Developer
Bring your specialist knowledge and experience to a company managing 50% of the world’s MIPS and play a critical role in our modernization mission. You’ll be in good company among our global community of experts leading the future of mainframe modernization.
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain high-volume business logic running on the mainframe while refactoring legacy code to enable modern cloud and mobile applications to seamlessly interact with core data. You will also play a key leadership role in guiding and mentoring an offshore team.
Key Responsibilities
Microservices Development: Design, develop, test, and deploy microservices using Spring Boot 4 and Java 17+.
Event Streaming: Implement real-time event streaming solutions using Apache Kafka, including consuming, transforming, and enriching streaming data.
Data Processing & Persistence: Implement change-detection logic, publish new events upon data changes, and integrate/optimize data persistence in MySQL.
Cloud & Resiliency: Deploy and manage applications on Microsoft Azure PaaS. Build fault-tolerant, scalable, and highly available applications with configured retry mechanisms, dead-letter topics, and idempotent processing.
Testing & DevOps: Write unit, integration, and performance tests, and collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines.
Team Leadership & Delivery: Guide and explain technical features to stakeholders, conduct playback sessions, provide work estimates, and mentor an offshore development team.
Qualifications & Requirements
10+ years of experience in Java development, with strong hands-on experience in enterprise application development.
Strong proficiency in Java 17+ and Spring Boot 4.
Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka for real-time streaming architectures.
Experience with MySQL optimization and Microsoft Azure PaaS.
Strong leadership, communication, and offshore team guidance capabilities.
Experience working with legacy/mainframe applications or mainframe modernization initiatives is an advantage.
