Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Semi-Qualified CA – Audit role based in Kolkata. The role involves executing audit engagements, including planning, fieldwork, testing of controls, and substantive procedures in accordance with professional standards and firm methodologies. Responsibilities include reviewing financial statements, ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and auditing standards, documenting working papers, and preparing clear audit reports and schedules. The role also requires coordination with clients to obtain information, resolve audit queries, and provide insights on process improvements and risk mitigation. The Semi-Qualified CA will support senior team members in managing timelines, supervising junior staff, and contributing to training and knowledge-sharing within the audit team.
Qualifications
Professional foundation: Semi-qualified Chartered Accountant (cleared Intermediate/IPC or equivalent), with relevant audit experience in statutory or internal audits.
Audit and assurance skills: Strong knowledge of auditing standards, risk-based audit approach, internal controls, and documentation of working papers and audit evidence.
Accounting and compliance skills: Solid understanding of accounting standards, financial reporting, tax implications, and regulatory requirements applicable to Indian entities.
Analytical and technical skills: Ability to analyze financial data, identify variances and risks, use audit tools and MS Excel effectively, and apply logical problem-solving.
Communication and collaboration skills: Clear written and verbal communication, ability to discuss findings with clients and team members, and strong interpersonal skills for teamwork.
Organization and time management: Capability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail, and work in a structured, process-driven environment.
Professional attributes: High ethical standards, integrity, willingness to learn, openness to feedback, and readiness to work on-site in Kolkata with occasional travel as required.
Preferred experience: Prior experience in a CA firm, exposure to diverse industries, familiarity with audit software, and interest in areas such as risk advisory, due diligence, or ESG will be an advantage.
