Job Title: Test Engineer (Playwright Automation)
Location: Durham, NC / Smithfield, RI / Remote (Client's decision)
Duration: Long Term Contract
Role Summary:
Build and maintain automated test coverage for the modernized FundsNetwork application, ensuring the new Angular-based platform meets functional and regression requirements as it replaces legacy SharePoint components.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright.
Build out and expand the test automation framework and coverage for the new Angular UI and backend services.
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous validation.
Perform regression testing to confirm feature parity with the legacy SharePoint-based application.
Identify, document, and track defects; collaborate with developers on root-cause analysis.
Support cross-browser and cross-environment test execution.
Report on test coverage, execution results, and quality trends.
Required Skills & Experience
4+ years of experience in test automation.
Hands-on expertise with Playwright (or strong experience with a comparable framework such as Selenium/Cypress, with ability to ramp quickly).
Experience testing Angular based (or comparable modern SPA) web applications.
Proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript for test scripting.
Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Working knowledge of API testing.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience testing financial services or other regulated applications.
Exposure to performance or security testing tools.
Experience validating a legacy-to-modern platform migration.
