Competitive Coder - C++ & AI Training | $45-$65/hr

Hirely is recruiting Competitive Coders for a specialized AI training project with a hiring partner. You’ll apply your competitive programming and C++ expertise to help build environments that test how AI models solve complex programming problems. The work focuses on creating unique competitive programming problems, reference solutions, robust test suites, and checkers capable of validating multiple valid outputs. No prior AI experience is required, your competitive programming expertise is what matters.
What You'll Do
Design and implement robust checkers for competitive programming problems
Create custom programming problems that are not already available on existing online judges
Develop reference solutions and comprehensive test suites
Evaluate and validate submissions against complex problem statements
Handle problems involving multiple valid outputs and diverse edge cases
Write clear, maintainable C++ code for checker development
Analyze complex constraints and different possible solution approaches
Collaborate with the hiring partner's team to clarify ambiguous requirements
Document checker logic, edge cases, and technical decisions
Provide feedback to problem setters and reviewers on test cases and checker quality
Apply current competitive programming and checker-development best practices
Who We're Looking For
Strong expertise in competitive programming
Advanced proficiency in C++
Strong understanding of algorithms, problem constraints, and solution validation
Ability to reason about multiple valid solution paths and outputs
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Strong written and verbal technical communication
Exceptional attention to detail when validating code and outputs
Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Ability to produce high-quality, well-documented code under deadlines
Preferred Experience
Problem setting on competitive programming platforms
Experience as a problem tester
Experience developing or maintaining competitive programming checkers
Experience with platforms such as Codeforces or similar online judges
Compensation & Terms
$45-$65/hour
