Senior Software Engineer

Senior Software Engineer required by a growing SaaS software business, joining a fast-moving product and engineering team.
This is a fully remote role and should suit a Senior Software Engineer who enjoys backend development, modern technologies and taking genuine ownership of their work within a collaborative product engineering environment.
This is very much a backend-focused role, working predominantly with Node.js and TypeScript to design and develop scalable services and applications. While there may be some exposure to the wider technology stack, the core of the position is backend software engineering.
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of features from initial design through to production. Rather than simply working through development tickets, they’re looking for an engineer who is comfortable taking responsibility for delivery, contributing ideas and helping improve backend systems and engineering practices.
Key responsibilities include:
Designing and developing scalable server-side applications using Node.js and TypeScript
Taking backend features from initial design through to production-ready delivery
Building and maintaining microservices
Writing unit and integration tests to maintain software quality and reliability
Working within established development, documentation and deployment processes
Contributing to improvements in coding standards and engineering practices
Collaborating as part of an Agile software development team
Key experience required:
Strong commercial software development experience, particularly server-side/backend development
Node.js and TypeScript
Microservices architectures
Unit and integration testing
SQL and/or NoSQL databases
Understanding of CI/CD principles
Experience with any of the following would also be beneficial:
NestJS
AWS or another cloud platform
Kafka
RabbitMQ
ActiveMQ
NATS
gRPC
OAuth2
AWS Cognito
