The Digital S/W Engineer Analyst SDE - Mobile Development is a Technology/ Engineering role involving both development and Testing. As a member of the SCRUM team, you will be
delivering Customer facing Banking and/or Credit Card features on digital channels such as Browser and Mobile. You will be involved in all stages of the Agile SDLC cycle. It includes but not
limited to (a) Requirement analysis: Grooming of user stories, Story pointing, decomposing big stories into smaller stories and define acceptance criteria. (b) Design Review: Reviewing
screens, flows, features, and customer communications (emails, SMS’s, notifications, PDF documents) and making sure that they are consistent with user story acceptance criteria
(c) Software development: Developing, configuring and debugging applications comprising of mobile frontend and Micro services. (d) Validations: Creating automated and manual test scripts
on BDD (Behavior Based Development) framework, executing test scripts. Identifying, triaging and fixing any defects. Conditioning and maintaining the test data. (e) Artifact
Ownership: Creating and maintaining testing artifacts such as Test plans and Exit reports and maintaining traceability as per SDLC guidelines. Maintaining SDLC hygiene involving stories.
Test cases and defects. Ensuring that no untested code goes out to production. (f) SDLC Process and Standards: Adhering to ADA (Americans with Disability Act) Guidelines, participating in
retrospectives, process improvement workshops, audits and performing root cause analysis. (g) Postproduction support: Supporting the technical check outs during release go live and
postproduction activities.
Responsibilities
Translate application designs into code across Android/Jetpack/Kotlin development platforms as Primary Skill, with guidance from senior developers.
Deep understanding of the Android SDK, platform lifecycle, and Google ecosystem (Jetpack, Android Runtime, etc.)
Leverage AI tools such as GitHub Copilot to assist with code generation, refactoring, and debugging tasks.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of BDD (Behavior Driven Development) automated and manual test scripts in a code repository; execute scripts and record results in a test management tool.
Use AI-assisted tools to help accelerate unit test creation, API scaffolding, Angular components, and Spring Boot boilerplate code.
Participate in the software development lifecycle including development, integration, and E2E testing within a CI/CD environment (e.g., RTC, Jenkins).
Write secure, stable, testable, and maintainable code under the guidance of senior engineers, and take accountability for assigned features.
Build and maintain documentation for your features and begin developing subject matter expertise in specific areas of the application.
Assist in analyzing root causes for application issues and performance concerns; collaborate within the scrum team to triage and report defects.
Learn and adhere to SDLC control processes and contribute ideas for continuous improvement.
Perform functional validations to meet acceptance criteria; gain familiarity with Responsive Web Design validation and ADA Accessibility testing tools (e.g., NVDA, Voiceover, Talkback, Axe).
Participate in team meetings and contribute to tracking progress against team objectives.
Work effectively in a fast-paced environment involving onshore and offshore teams.
Education, Qualification & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or a related STEM field, or comparable work experience.
4- 7 years of experience in full-stack mobile development and/or testing in a professional environment.
Basic familiarity with Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) concepts; exposure to test automation frameworks such as Selenium with Cucumber is a plus.
Exposure to or interest in cloud-based development platforms such as OpenShift is desirable but not required.
Basic working knowledge of collaboration and project management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Eagerness to learn, self-motivated, and willing to take ownership of assigned tasks.
Good written and oral communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
