VP of Product
CredFlow AI
Reports to: Founder and Chief Operating Officer
Location: Remote, United States
Employment type: Full time, exempt
About CredFlow AI
CredFlow AI is a healthcare software company providing credentialing, primary source verification, and payer enrollment solutions to medical groups, revenue cycle management companies, credentialing consultancies, and health plans. We use artificial intelligence to augment standard workflows and return labor value to teams managing thousands of providers across multiple states and payers.
Position Summary
The VP of Product is CredFlow AI's senior domain expert and the person who connects what customers need to what the platform delivers. This is a customer-facing role. You will lead product demonstrations and discovery in sales cycles, own how new customers are implemented and onboarded, drive adoption and retention after go-live, and feed everything you learn in the field back into the roadmap.
We are looking for someone who has spent years inside credentialing and payer enrollment operations and knows the work well enough to earn the trust of a prospect's operations team in the first conversation. Deep subject matter expertise is the foundation of this role. Product direction, implementation, and customer success all rest on it.
This is a senior individual contributor position to start, with the opportunity to build implementation, product, and customer-facing functions as the company scales.
Key ResponsibilitiesDomain expertise and product direction
Serve as CredFlow AI's subject matter authority on credentialing, primary source verification, and payer enrollment across the company and in front of customers.
Own and maintain the product roadmap, grounding priorities in what you see in sales, implementation, and customer success work.
Resolve business logic questions arising from multi-state, multi-entity, and multi-payer provider scenarios.
Maintain the canonical data model covering providers, organizations, locations, payers, contracts, enrollments, workflows, and tasks, and author the specifications and acceptance criteria engineering needs to build.
Sales and pre-sales
Deliver product demonstrations to prospective customers, including medical groups, revenue cycle companies, credentialing consultancies, and health plans.
Lead discovery conversations that surface a prospect's current credentialing and enrollment processes, systems, and constraints, and assess fit.
Serve as the product and domain expert in sales conversations, answering functional, technical, and workflow questions from prospects and their operations teams without preparation time.
Prepare and review responses to requests for information, requests for proposal, and security and compliance questionnaires.
Advise on product scope and capability language in statements of work and service level agreements, and support marketing with accurate positioning.
Represent CredFlow AI at industry conferences and in partner and prospect meetings.
Implementation and onboarding
Own the implementation and onboarding model, including project sequencing, configuration standards, and go-live criteria.
Lead data migration from legacy credentialing systems, including field mapping, validation, and cutover.
Configure the platform to each customer's provider, payer, and workflow scenarios, and confirm it holds up against real operational cases.
Produce onboarding documentation and train customer teams on new configurations and capabilities.
Customer success and adoption
Own customer adoption and account health after go-live, tracking throughput, usage, and outcomes, and acting on what the data shows.
Run escalation, roadmap, and expansion conversations with customers, and translate findings into product decisions.
Identify retention and growth risks early and coordinate the response across product, engineering, and leadership.
Build the customer success motion and the team that runs it as the customer base grows.
AI and automation quality
Define requirements and quality standards for AI-assisted payer communication and automated portal submission.
Review transcripts, logs, and automation output to find defect patterns, and turn them into prioritized engineering work.
Establish guardrails for automated data handling, including verification requirements and human review gates.
Payer coverage and connectivity
Maintain the payer master catalog, including payer hierarchy, product lines, enrollment pathways, and connectivity classification.
Define requirements for payer directory API integration and portal automation coverage.
Set and enforce standards for verifying payer reference identifiers.
Market, competitive, and regulatory intelligence
Keep working knowledge of competing credentialing, enrollment, and provider data platforms.
Track regulatory and standards developments affecting the product, including CMS rules, provider directory accuracy requirements, state Medicaid changes, and NCQA standards, and translate them into roadmap requirements.
Evaluate third-party data sources, verification vendors, and integration partners, and make build, buy, or partner recommendations.
Cross-functional leadership
Partner with engineering on sprint planning, scope, and release sequencing, with morning overlap with staff based in India.
Collaborate with compliance on requirements arising from SOC 2, NCQA, and regulatory obligations.
Build and lead implementation, product, and customer success functions as the organization scales.
Required Qualifications
Minimum five years of hands-on experience in provider credentialing, payer enrollment, primary source verification, or provider data management.
Direct customer-facing experience, such as leading implementations, running onboarding, managing customer accounts, or supporting sales as a domain expert.
Working knowledge of credentialing and enrollment concepts, including CAQH, NCQA standards, delegated and non-delegated credentialing, Medicare and Medicaid enrollment, roster management, and recredentialing cycles.
Demonstrated ability to present to external audiences and answer functional and technical questions from customers or prospects without preparation time.
Experience translating operational requirements into software, such as leading a credentialing system implementation, authoring requirements, building operational reporting, or owning a provider data database.
Technical fluency to work directly with engineers, including API and file-based integration models and data structures. Programming ability is not required.
Excellent written communication, with the ability to produce clear specifications, onboarding materials, and customer-facing documentation.
Ability to make and document decisions with incomplete information.
Authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
CPCS, CPMSM, or PESC certification.
Prior experience at a credentialing, provider data, or payer operations software vendor in implementation, solutions, client services, or product management.
Depth in payer enrollment and medical staff services.
Experience supporting sales cycles as a subject matter expert, including demonstrations, pilot scoping, and responses to RFPs or security questionnaires.
Experience with SQL, business intelligence tools, or operational analytics.
Familiarity with FHIR-based healthcare APIs.
Experience applying AI or automation tools within healthcare operations.
Compensation and Benefits
CredFlow AI offers a competitive base salary commensurate with experience, meaningful equity participation, and a benefits package. The compensation range for this position will be discussed during the initial interview.
Application Process
Qualified candidates should submit a resume and a brief cover letter describing a credentialing or enrollment implementation, process, or product they have shaped and the outcome. The interview process consists of an initial screening conversation, a domain and experience interview, a structured working session on a representative implementation or product problem, a conversation with the engineering lead, and reference checks.
