Senior Application Developer – C#/.NET & AI Solutions
Location: Remote - but not reside in one of the following states: CA, CO, DC, DE, KS, ME, MD, MO, NY, OH, VA
Salary: 140-175k
What You'll Do
Build scalable, production-ready applications in C# using .NET / .NET Core and current application frameworks
Drive the design and rollout of AI features and AI agents that automate tasks, work with enterprise data, and support user workflows
Build and orchestrate AI solutions with tools like Azure OpenAI, Azure AI Services, and agent frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework/AutoGen, or the OpenAI/Anthropic SDKs
Apply retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), prompt engineering, tool/function calling, and vector search to connect AI to enterprise content
Set engineering standards, review code, and coach junior and mid-level developers
Work with stakeholders and architects to turn business needs into technical designs and delivery plans
Build AI features responsibly, factoring in security, privacy, evaluation, and governance at every step
Experience
Strong, proven experience building production applications in C# with .NET / .NET Core
Real experience building or integrating AI/LLM solutions, including prompt engineering, function/tool calling, RAG, and working with model APIs like Azure OpenAI, OpenAI, or similar
Direct experience building AI agents — ones that plan, call tools, hold context, and carry out multi-step tasks — using Semantic Kernel, Microsoft Agent Framework, AutoGen, or LangChain-style orchestration
Solid Azure development background, including App Services, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Key Vaults, Storage Accounts, and Azure DevOps pipelines
Strong Azure SQL and T-SQL skills, including building database objects, stored procedures, user-defined functions, and integrated security; familiarity with vector stores like Azure AI Search or Cosmos DB is a plus
Comfort with DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and version control (Git), including branching and release strategies
Experience developing in Visual Studio and/or VS Code
Command of the full software development life cycle — architecture through deployment and documentation — with security built in throughout
Experience with Web Services, RESTful APIs, and SOAP APIs for connecting to vendor and enterprise systems
A track record of technical leadership — mentoring developers, owning architecture calls, and pushing best practices across a team
Strong problem-solving skills and a genuine interest in keeping up with fast-moving AI technology
Clear communication skills, written and verbal, with the ability to explain technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences, plus strong attention to detail
Preferred
Experience shipping AI/agentic solutions for real business use cases — document analysis, summarization, intelligent automation, copilots — at production scale
Background working with legal, financial, or HR systems and databases
Front-end experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks like React, along with HTML5 and CSS
Experience with legal desktop applications, document management systems, or onboarding workflows
Familiarity with Responsible AI practices — evaluation, guardrails, content safety, and cost/performance tuning for AI workloads
Experience & Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
At least 4 years of professional software development experience with hands-on C#/.NET work; experience building AI/LLM solutions is strongly preferred
