Role Description The Sr. HSE Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Vadodara. The role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and company standards. The Sr. HSE Engineer will conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and incident investigations, and will prepare and maintain HSE documentation and reports. Daily responsibilities include coordinating toolbox talks, safety training, and awareness programs, as well as advising project and site teams on safe work practices and hazard control measures. The role also requires close collaboration with engineering, operations, and management teams to drive continuous improvement in HSE performance and cultivate a strong safety culture.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health expertise, with the ability to apply safety principles to complex engineering and infrastructure projects.
Candidates should possess solid Environment Health and Safety (EHS) knowledge, including environmental compliance, waste management, and pollution prevention practices.
Candidates should possess Safety Engineering skills, including risk identification, hazard analysis, and implementation of control measures and safe systems of work.
Candidates should possess Training capabilities, including designing and delivering safety induction programs, refresher trainings, and HSE awareness sessions for diverse teams.
Relevant engineering or science degree (e.g., Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, Environmental) with a specialization or certification in HSE/EHS (such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) is preferred.
Demonstrated experience in HSE roles within large-scale infrastructure, construction, or industrial projects, preferably at a senior or supervisory level.
Strong knowledge of applicable national and international HSE regulations, standards, and best practices, with the ability to interpret and implement them on site.
Effective communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence teams and promote a proactive safety culture.
